Franck Muller Casablanca Sahara 6850 automatic wristwatch. Franck Muller was born in 1958. He spent his childhood in La Chaux-de-Fonds with his Italian mother and Swiss-born father. When 15, he enrolled in a watch making school. In the early 1980s, he graduated from the Swiss school of watch making. Afterwards he began repairing top quality pocket watches. Close to an independent watchmaker by the name of Svend Andersen, Franck Muller became responsible for handling watches from the collection of Patek Philippe. Most of the clientele were private individuals and museums. While he was working with complicated timepieces, he became passionate about their mechanisms and began to think of building his own workshop. The brand of watches carries the slogan "Master of Complications". Franck Muller's watches are worn by various celebrities, among them Demi Moore, Robin Williams, Elton John, 50 Cent, and José Mourinho. Franck Muller timepieces are famous for their fusion of "modern" style, mostly inspired by American watches from the thirties, like the Elgin tonneau, and traditional Swiss watch manufacturing. The president of the company is Frank Muller himself. He claims to design the mechanism of every watch by himself. Soon after, in 1984, Franck Muller designed his own tourbillon wristwatch. In the 1980s, few watchmakers were capable of creating such complicated timepieces, among them Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. The private clients of Franck Muller continued to come for new timepieces, and thus his business started growing. The House of Franck Muller opened in 1991, and his ultra complicated timepieces instantly became famous in Europe and the United States. Today, his factory, which is also the headquarters of Franck Muller, produces a limited number of watches for private clientele. Franck Muller's collections include a variety of designs and price ranges. The Casablanca is a design harking back to a bygone era in a typical Art deco fashion with its curved tonneau shaped case, with sleekly formed sapphire crystal integrating seamlessly into the fascia of the case, the case is polished stainless steel with a steel back secured by screws. The dial is white with so called exploding numerals, as in Typical Art Deco fashion, the numeral colour and hand colour are burned orange in colour, which is more of a terracotta colour. The hands like the rest of the watch are typical Art Deco lozenge style. Comes on original terracotta strap with original steel pin buckle. It comes in the original leather suitcase style box, in the style of an African safari trunk. The terracotta colours, strap and suitcase box are reflective of the model name Sahara. Mint condition Jacob & Co World Time. This watch was purchased in the USA 3 years ago. They have a retail price of £25,000 which is US $40,000. Some information on Jacob & Co, not my words, but taken from the Jacob & Coweb site: "....For over a quarter of a century, Jacob & Co has created revolutionary timepieces and jewelry for men and women. As the world’s premier house for the fusion of impeccable quality, classic technique, and unmatched creativity, Jacob & Co is the first choice for discerning individuals whose demand for superb craftsmanship is matched with a taste for visionary artistry in both jewelry and fine watchmaking. Whether fashion, film, or music stars in the entertainment world, or simply lovers of flawless attention to detail, every Jacob and Co client experiences the finest in personal service and workmanship. Admirers of prevailing beauty will find no rival to the alchemy of edge and elegance that is Jacob & Co. The innovations created by Jacob & Co have been, and always will be, revolutions in style that create a fresh vision of timepiece and jewelry design; a vision which nurtured a new generation of fine watchmaking and jewelry connoisseurs. The originality and vision achieved by Jacob & Co has, in the years since its inception, become an international phenomenon. With timepieces and jewelry that are respected worldwide for their enduring value and lasting appeal, Jacob and Co continues to be the principal destination for the world’s most discriminating cognoscenti....." Taken with a pinch of salt no doubt and some flowery wording indeed, but believe what you may, this is a large and imposing looking watch with a lot of diamonds on it. It has 5 quartz modules for the separate time zones. The bezel is diamond studded on 18 karat gold and the map of the world is also made out of diamonds, albeit quite small diamonds, so it looks like a textured or three dimensional map. There are the main hands telling the local time and four smaller time zone hands placed in North America, Asia, South America and Africa. Presumably Australasia, Far East etc, is not deemed important enough to get its own timezone, but I guess with limited workspace on the dial some nations have to cop for it. Great Britain is lucky enough to get a diamond of its own and so does Iceland, which appears to have more icy look than the other diamonds. The Black Sea is also coloured black, but Greenland is a yellowy colour. The Jacob & Co watches are made popular as they are worn by illuminati such as David Beckham, Mike Tyson, Elton John and many other style icons of our generation. In seriousness though, its an expensive watch with a massive retail price and advertised here at a fraction of the retail price, more regarded as a fun watch. Comes in the original box with paperwork, original black strap – has a tear on the end of it but that is hidden by the buckle, and spare yellow strap. Original retail is £25,000. Width is 47 mm excluding crown and 49 mm including crowns, lug to lug is 47 mm, Thickness is 12 mm.  Ref. NWW 846. Price is £5,995 or US $9,750

Jaguar automatic chronograph, in mint condition and recently serviced. This is a Jaguar Motor company promotional item. Jaguar are not know for making watches, so they commission them with Swiss watch makers. In the past, there have been a few companies to make watches for Jaguar, but nobody know who they are. All parts in the watch however are Swiss.  The case is large and thick made from polished stainless steel. It has got narrow angled lugs in a typical late 1950’s fashion. It has got square and flat pushers. The crown is a large crown with a screw down crown. It has got a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and a glass display back showing off the movement. The movement is a Swiss made 25 jewel Valjoux 7750 automatic. The case back has a large inscription reading “Jaguar Collection Retro” so it appears that the watch was commissioned for a certain event. Also the let side of the case has a large serial number G0087. The dial is also pretty retro looking with a base pulsometer in the outer chapter and the inner chapter is a 60 second track with red accents in the final countdown stage of the chapters. It has got a date at the 3 position. It also has a leaping Jaguar logo and the word Jaguar on the dial. It comes in the original walnut veneer box, the same material as the dashboards in jaguar cars. It has the outer box as well also with the Jaguar logo, but no papers with the watch. It’s a well made, nice looking watch and perhaps one for the jaguar enthusiast. Dimensions are: width 38 mm excluding crown, 41 mm including crown, lug to lug 45 mm, thickness 14.5 mm. Ref VIN 731. sold

Brand new and never used condition re-edition of the 1941 Pilot watch. It was originally purchased from us in November 2008 making it just under 3 years old. It formed part of a collection and has genuinely never been worn as it has not got a single blemish on it. It is a faithful and quite striking re-edition of the Tutima 1941 pilot chronograph. The past has produced classics from the world of industrial design and also horological classics that have made history and can thus legitimately be described as perfect accomplishments.  One of these is the Tutima Chronograph of 1941, whose history merits closer examination.  During the war time period, pilots required reliable, robust and legible timepieces.  Tutima was one of the few companies who were able to manufacture such watches and this is the watch that set the standard for pilots chronograph watches.  The original watches today are rare collectors classics, but in a homage to this, Tutima have re-created this classic pilots watch.  Of course it is made to the modern specifications and standards, using modern techniques and materials demanded by today’s high standards.   It is an authentic re-edition of the original, and since time consists of endless recurring cycles, this prime example of 20th century technical progress cried out for renaissance.  It seemed only logical that this had to take place at Tutima itself and nowhere else, to ensure that the original in fact remained and original.  The movement is a Swiss made Valjoux 7760 modified to re create the original 1941 dial configuration.  It runs at 28,800 bph and a 42 hour power reserve and the bridges are decorated with Geneva stripes, and like the original is hand wound.  Highly visible hands and numerals.  It is a brushed stainless steel case, and dual O-ring gaskets on crown and chronograph buttons.  Over sized winding crown and extended pushers – for ease of use with thick flying gloves as used in 1941. Long and slender lugs.  Attractive brushed stainless steel, screw on solid steel case back and scratch resistant sapphire crystal,.  Fluted non ratchet rotating bezel with red painted positional marker, true to the form of the 1941 original.  It also has luminous dial markings and hands.  It has a domed sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 10 bar which is approximately 100 metres. High quality thick black leather strap.  Comes beautifully presented in polished piano wood box with silver Tutima name plate screwed to the lid.  Comes withal other peripherals, papers, polishing cloth and 2 year warranty.  Tutima reference 783-01.  Width is 40 mm excluding crown and 43 mm including crown, lug to lug is 46 mm and thickness is 13.5 mm.  Ref. Because the bezel can be rotated to display elapsed time for one hour, there is an indicator etched on the under side of the crystal permanently pointing to the 60 position, so it can be instantly read and the 60 position can be immediately seen. This is a clever feature and not often seen. The company was acquired by Cinette Robert in 1990.  Robert was from a line of watch making pioneers which included the Meylan and LeCoultre families.  Since Robert took over, the company has gone from strength to strength as they manufacture high quality and unique looking watches designed for the taste of the connoisseur.  This one is the Aerodyn Elegance.  As their company statements mention “At Dubey & Schaldenbrand, our craftsmen strive to achieve absoluter perfection in watch making, using only the finest materials of which there is no compromise”.  No truer word said as this watch aims to achieve perfection which it seems to have done.  It is well made, beautifully finished, designed with thought and great attention to detail, well packaged and presented and speaks volumes in quality.  It is designed in an Art Deco style with a case and dial which is reminiscent of a watch from the 1930’s.  It has the ever popular curved tonneau case, but with a flat case back held down by seven screws.  It has a curved sapphire crystal which is perfectly flush with the case giving a neat and seamless appearance.  The crystal is anti reflective.  Attractive black dial with beautifully contrasting white numerals and dial markings.  The markings are printed and the numbers are printed in a 3D effect.  They are thick dauphine style hands to compliment the overall art deco feel to the watch.  The hand and marking s in the sub second dial are also blue as well as the logo.  Highly polished case and hidden lugs and signed winding crown.  Highly polished case and hidden lugs and signed winding crown.  Comes on quality alligator black leather strap, signed on the underside and signed polished steel deployant buckle.  No box or papers, reflected in the price. UK Retail price is £2,475 (US $4,100).  Width is 35 mm excluding crown and 37 mm including crown, lug to lug is 45 mm, Thickness is 12 mm Ref: NWW 589.1375 sold

Mint condition Eberhard & Co Champion Mareoscope automatic chronograph. This is a wonderful collectors classic as it is a rare and very unusual watch. One especially for those who are enthusiasts of Lemania calibre watches. Eberhard & Co have been in existence since 1887, and have been a strong trademark ever since they began production over 100 years ago.  They are a Swiss company based in the Chaux-de-Fonds famous watch making region of Switzerland.  The Champion Mareoscope is an accurate well made, unusual and unique looking wristwatch. This is a rare watch and seldom seen. It has got an equally rare Lemania 5190 movement which is a variation on the 5100. It has got some of the 5100 features such as the two central chronograph hands, one for the sixty seconds elapsed time and one for the sixty minute elapsed time. The twelve hour elapsed time is at the 12 positions and the sub dial at the 9 position shows the subsidiary seconds. The sub dial at the 3 position makes the watch unique in that this is a 24 hour tide chronograph which indicates high and low tide in relation to phases of the moon which are shown at fixed positions. The dial configuration in this format is the tri compax style. The movement is a stopping movement so when pulling the crown out to set the time, the movement stops to allow accurate time setting. The case is polished and matte stainless steel and it has got a steel screw on case back showing the makers name and the words Champion Mareoscope. It has got a fixed bezel in the fashion of a tachometric scale, with the numbers in gold colour. The dial has got a telemetric scale in the outer part of the dial shown in kilometres. The dial is matt black with gold colour applied batons and hands, as well as gold colour other dial markings and accents. The combination of black and gold giving it an attractive and stylish look. The central hands are coloured in contrasting red for the sixty second elapsed indicator and the sixty minute hand is black with a red arrow tip. The crystal is acrylic and it has got a screw down crown and it is 3 ATM pressure resistant. It comes on a replacement brown alligator strap which has got a little bit of wear to it. It has got a deployant buckle on the strap, but comes with the original Eberhard signed pin buckle. It comes with the wooden inner box and outer box, with warranty card, but there are no instructions with it, so fathoming the tidal indicator is something that will only add to the quirky nature of this lovely little timepiece. Dimensions are: width is 37 mm excluding crown, 40 mm including crown and 42 mm lug to lug and thickness is 14 mm Ref. NWW 604.1195 sold

Used but excellent to mint condition Tutima Military Chronograph in stainless steel. The Tutima Military Chronograph is one of the watches that has previously been used by German and Nato military forces. It was adopted by the armed forces for issue to pilots, officers and special forces. The reasons were not only for the reliability, durability and robustness, but also the unique design of the control buttons for the chronograph functions. Instead of the usual protruding buttons, they used large spaced push buttons integrated into the case. This feature facilitated operation, particularly when wearing gloves, as well as reducing protruding parts that could interfere or cause injury to the wearer. The buttons however did not affect the 10 ATM water resistance of the watch. Please note, this item is used and not tested for this water resistance. It uses the tried and tested Lemania 5100 automatic movement. The 5100 has passed countless endurance tests with flying colours. Its robustness, reliability and precision under even the toughest of conditions is partly due to the refinement and evolution of it as well as the number of moving parts being kept to a bare minimum without impairing the functions. The watch is designed as an instrument and provides instant legibility as it has a sharply contrasting dial. The sixty minute elapsed timer is one of the large centre hands, with the red t-bar tip, which provides very good legibility for elapsed timing without having to look in the smaller sub dials. Has a 24 hour indicator at the 12 position, twelve hour elapsed timer at the 6 position, and sixty second elapsed timer is the large red sweep centre second hand. The subsidiary seconds is at the 9 position and day and date at the 3 position. The crystal is sapphire with anti reflective coating.  It has a recessed screw down crown and is water resistant to 20 bar (approximately 200 metres).  The internal fixed bezel has 12 hour markings for additional elapsed time functionality. It comes on leather strap. It comes with all boxes, papers and instructions, warranty card. UK retail price is £2,400 (US $3,940). Used condition with odd marks to the watch, nothing serious. Viewed as a whole, however, this is indeed a remarkable watch.  This design and flare for individuality and are the essence behind the unmistakable character of this as well as every other MeisterSinger watch.  Somewhat reminiscent of a water pressure gauge, it is outstanding and commands a great presence when worn on the wrist.  This is because a lot of watches look like other watches.  However this is truly unique in it’s entire make up.  It has a large case and face, bold numbers with single numbers preceded by zeros, one single needle hand, large crown, and hand wound ETA 2801 movement, The movement is decorated with cote de Geneve bridges, diamond finish ratchet wheels, blued screws, hammered finish balance wheel plate, rhodium plated movement with a signed bridge – this signature appears in gold colour which is the brass beneath the rhodium plate, which is a nice finishing touch.  It has an ivory or cream colour dial beautifully offset against the single large blued steel needle hand and the brown strap.  It has a polished stainless steel case, curved hardened mineral crystal to the front and back and it is 3 ATM water resistant.  The Strap and buckle are original and signed as is the crown.  Comes with original box and papers. Width is 38 mm excluding the crown, 46 mm including crown, 46 mm lug to lug and 12 mm thick.  Ref. NWW 761. sold

Mint and unused looking condition Archimede Pilot Wristwatch. Archimede is a subsidiary of Limes. Limes (pronounced "Lee mes"), is a watch manufacturer born out of the Ickler company who have been a specialist case maker since 1924. Mint and hardly used condition Hublot MDM automatic wristwatch. Hublot are a hugely successful Swiss watch company manufacturing high quality watches. They have just bought BNB, who were suppliers of high end tourbillion movement to companies such as Hublot. The acquisition included 30 watchmakers, mechanics and technicians and all of the machinery. Also with many high profile sponsorship deals such as with Manchester United, with Sir Alex Ferguson and many of the players wearing Hublot watches, they are now well positioned to become one of Switzerland’s, and the world’s best know watch makers. Other partnership and sponsorship deals include Morgan cars, Ayrton Senna Foundation, Yacht Club Courchevel, Alinghi Yacht, Polo Park Zurich, Polo Club Saint-Tropez, Ecole De Ski De Courchevel and Dario Cologna. Hublot was born out of a desire to transcend contemporary watch design and produce a unique watch line. Creator Carlo Crocco acquired strong notions of beauty growing up in a family of watchmakers, and by 1977 had designed his first watch. In 1980 he established his own company, MDM Genève, hoping to create a watch whose elegant and sporty design would be appreciated the world over. Crocco was determined to develop a watch that not only had pure lines and a respect for the materials used, but one that transcended changing fashions and could be worn in both elegant and informal situations. His first rule was simplicity: no superfluous design elements. The look was modelled after a porthole (Hublot, in fact, is French for porthole). Colleagues and competitors were dubious when Carlo Crocco presented the Hublot watch at Basel Fair in 1980, but were soon won over as it went on to become the "Sensation" of the year. The Hublot became instantly recognizable, its swift acceptance surpassing all expectations. Members of several royal families spontaneously showed their enthusiasm for the Hublot, and it soon became the choice of the world's leading personalities. Carlo Crocco had taken a bold risk, and in a few short years Hublot watches were elevated into the exclusive circle of prestige Swiss watch making houses. The watch is a simple yet stylish and slim line watch made from stainless steel. The case design is true to the original concept of Hublot and is shaped like a ship’s porthole. It has a Swiss made automatic movement. It has got a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and screw down crown and screw on case back with six screws holding it down. It is water resistant to 5 ATM. The dial is matte silver with a date at the 3 position. The hands and dial markings are blued steel giving it a lovely fresh appeal. Hublot branding and Hublot logo at the 12 position. Virtually brand new, and mint condition, hardly worn U-Boat Thousands of Feet hand wound wristwatch. UK retial price is £2,200 (US $3,520). U-Boat Watches - Back in 1942 the "Officine Fontana" was poised to produce a professional watch for the distinguished officers of its navy’s U-Boats. Though the project was ultimately scrapped, the distinctive original drawings, color samples and innovative materials were lovingly preserved for more than 60 years. In 2000, Italo Fontana, a cousin of the watchmaker’s late founder, made a long held company dream come true with the launch of today’s inspired U-Boat brand. U-Boat watches, just like their original namesake, are bold, aggressive and oversized. These timepieces embodied force and style and revealed the unique personality of the man behind the revival, Italo Fontana. The Thousands Of Feet Series is a  sensation of limitless time, distances above and beneath the Ocean, this is bold, aggressive and oversized. These timepieces embodied force and style and revealed the unique personality of the man behind the revival. The watch is a large, heavy and substantial watch, it is not for somebody who likes a small watch, its not for somebody who likes a big watch, it is for people who like huge watches. It is an almighty 50 mm across and 15 mm thick. It is a huge chunk of metal. It is a functional and practical looking watch. As the name suggests, Thousands of Feet, it has got a submariner influence about it, and has a dial designed in a depth guage look, with bold numerals, hands and dial markings. At the same time it also has a clock look to it as well, especially in the case design. The dial is black with off yellow dial markings giving the appearance of reading the clock in low level lighting such as on board a submarine, yet it is highly legible at the same time. It has got a spinning indicator at the 3 position, not quite a sub second hand, but just an indicator to let you know that the clock is ticking,. There is also a red dot above this which is sandwich effect as the dot is on a layer beneath an aperture in the dial. Presumably this is a feature on a submarine instrument as it seems to have no real function on the watch other than to make it look good. The case is screwed from the top. The movement is a Swiss made Unitas 6497. The crown is set on the left side of the watch so it does not dig into the wrist. It has got a glass display case back, it is water resistant to 100 metres. Comes on a black calf leather strap, box and unstamped warranty card with spare canvas strap. Ref NWW 646. sold

Eterna have been producing high quality watches since their formation in 1856 in Grenchen, Switzerland.  They have been responsible for many horological innovations including the 1948 production of the world’s first automatic wristwatch on a ball bearing mounted rotor – a huge technological achievement of the era, and the Eterna logo still today bears, the five ball bearings.  Then, there was the world’s very first alarm wristwatch, the smallest self-winding movement, the thinnest quartz wristwatch of all times with a mere 0.98 mm, the smallest quartz movement for ladies’ watches, and on and on.  For connoisseurs of Swiss quality timepieces, all these accomplishments transformed the name Eterna into a genuine legend.  The full calendar chronograph watches were highly popular in the 1950’s. They have recently had a resurgence in popularity due to several reasons, one being their usefulness in their functionality as they have a twelve hour chronograph, a full calendar, and secondly because some of them such as this Eterna mimics the designs of the 1950’s and it is a classic watch but built to modern standards and specifications, with modern materials and a more durable and reliable modern movement.  The movement is a mechanical Swiss made self winding movement which is a Swiss made 25 jewel Valjoux 7751. Functions include twelve hour automatic chronograph, phases of the moon, date pointer, day of week and month. It has got a lightly domed sapphire crystal, solid gold case back and is a hefty weighing in watch. The case is solid 18 karat gold, it is a limited edition of only 1,000 pieces and this one is number 651, it comes with the original buckle on a replacement strap. It ahs an Eterna box and undated papers, but the date is around 6 to 8 years old when the Les Historiques collection was launched. Rare watch. Dimensions are as follows, width is 38 mm excluding crown, 40 mm including the crown, 42 mm lug to lug and 13.5 mm thick. Ref NWW 614. 1850 reserved

Mint condition and hardly used Jean Richard Chronoscope automatic chronograph.  Daniel Jean Richard was born around 1665 in La Sange, today a small Swiss village nestled in the famous watch making region between La Locle and La Chaux-de-Fonds. He was a very talented silver smith making jewelry and silver objects.  A jewelry dealer who saw his work asked him to repair an expensive watch.  Not only did he repair the watch without any training in watch making, but he managed to build an exact replica of the watch from memory over a year later.  In the 1990’s the company was revived by the SoWind Group who also own Girard Perregaux.  Today and from the beginning, the idea was to produce simple, affordable, yet high quality watches song high quality stainless steel rather than precious metals, robust cattle leather straps rather than expensive crocodile or ostrich, and using strong and durable movements.  All of the savings made in these areas are invested in the construction of the watch to produce best quality timepieces.  This one looks like it has hardly been used, it comes with complete box set and papers with unsigned warranty card but approximately 3 to 5 years old. It is a magnificent shaped and sized watch, which is round with long lugs, large pushers and over sized crowns. It has a screw down crown at the 3 position for winding and setting the hands. It has another screw down crown at the 9 position which is used for operating the internal rotating bezel.  This dial is a beautiful and rarely seen colour combination. The internal rotating bezel is blue with silver print, the central part of the dial is a copper/salmon colour and it has silver sub dials. The numerals on the dial are in old fashioned large print. The case is well proportioned and symmetrical and is brushed and polished stainless steel with screw on solid steel case back. The movement is an Dubois Depraz modular movement, it has a curved sapphire crystal. It comes with the original tan leather strap and also comes on a replacement Rios blue leather strap, it has the original signed Daniel Jean Richard folding deployant clasp. Mint condition Jacques Lemans Pilot. Jacques Lemans which ensnares fleeting and transient time in its wristwatches was created by Alfred and Norbert Riedl. The founders continue to be the company’s owners even in the present day. The watch enterprise commenced producing chronographs in Switzerland in 1979. Growing business and ever-increasing demand for its products made Jacques Lemans open its two subsidiary companies in Hong Kong and in Germany in 1982 and 1995 respectively. In 1999, the management decided to shift its European headquarter in Austria. But Geneva, the original city headquartering Jacques Lemans watches regained its position in 2002 when the company’s production was relocated in it. Today Jacques Lemans feels proud of its widespread market in more than 50 countries. So what lies behind the success of a 25 year old watch brand to be so well accepted in almost all over the world? Kemmner watches are hand made in exclusively small numbers by Roland Kemmner in his workshop in Germany. Roland Kemmner used to work for watch designer and manufacturer Walter Fricker who makes watches for many German companies. Some of the designs that Kemmner has worked on are Timefactors and Kobold watches. The watches that he makes are all very well made, well crafted and constructed to high and exacting standards. This one is a large size Kemmner Marine. It is in mint condition and barely used, barring a tiny pinprick mark near the 10 position, it was originally purchased in February 2010 so only six months old when it came into stock. The case is large, well machined in polished stainless steel with screw on case back with scratch proof sapphire crystal to the front and sapphire crystal to the back allowing the movement to be viewed. This is not a bad thing as the movement is a handsome looking Swiss made ETA Unitas 6495 hand winding movement, beating at 18,000 VPH which is well finished with blued screws and Geneva stripes. The Unitas is a rugged and durable movement and commonly used in Swiss and German watches. It has a large winding crown and is water resistant to 5 ATM. The dial is brilliant white lacquered to give it an enamel look with black printed numerals and dial markings and contrasting bright and beautiful blued steel hands. There is simple minute track and a large sub second dial at the 6 position. This look is replicating the early marine chronometers with enamel dials and blued steel hands. The manufacture is in a small craft workshop and as such there is no manufacturer strap or boxes and papers but comes in a generic replacement box and complete with a very lightly used decent quality Rios 1931 black buffalo strap with white stitching and steel Rios buckle. Also comes with a brand new decent quality brown leather strap with white stitching. Dimensions are as follows width is 42 mm excluding crown, 45 mm including crown, 48 mm lug to lug and 11 mm thick. Revue Thommen is a Swiss watch and aviation instrumentation manufacturer, originally established 1853 as Waldenburg clock and watch making company Revue Thommen watch trademark is now operated by Grovana Watch Co since 2001 under license of the Revue Thommen AG (LTD). After merge with Vulcain watch company Revue Thommen re-produced the "president watch" in 1997, from the original Cricket made in 1951. It was considered one of the first alarm watches ever made. Hamilton Watch Company produced watches using the Cricket ebauche. Revue Thommen itself became a leading manufacturer of precision instruments and avionics. Out of the original factory in Waldenburg the company supplies aircraft manufacturers and airforces in over 30 countries. This one is a mint condition and barely used Revue Thommen Cricket hand wound wrist alarm. This watch has an ingenious and simple method of operation. It is advised that the instructions are read before using to prevent damage by pressing or pulling the wrong crowns, but in short the winding crown turned clockwise winds up the alarm mechanism. The crown wound anti clockwise winds up the watch mainspring for the time operation. The crown also sets the hands when pulled out to the first position. The alarm setting is operated by pressing the button at the 2 position, this releases the winding crown to a second position, which when turned, allows you to set the alarm indicator (the block tipped hand). When the desired time is selected, you press the crown back in. The alarm will then sound on cue and is loud enough to wake you up from sleep. To cut the alarm, simply press the button at 2. The back has a second cover with holes in the second cover, and is raised to allow for sound resonance.  Very clever internal design and acoustics make this the loudest mechanical alarm ever made.  In addition to it having a sophisticated alarm mechanism the dial is a stunning design.  It steel with blue dial and original blue leather strap. Has a sapphire crystal.  The alarm is loud, and tested to wake me from deep sleep at 7:30 am - working as it should do, loud and on cue. Comes on original strap with buckle with box and papers.  UK retail price for these watches were £1,300 or US $2,700.  Width is 37 mm excluding crown, 41 mm including crown, Lug to lug is 46 mm, Thickness is 12 mm Ref: NWW 715. reserved

The return of the magnificent CWC Royal Navy Automatic divers watch with Swiss made automatic 2824-2 movement and 300 metres water resistant. The is one of the most sought after military divers watches, and the watch that the Royal Navy used to replace the Rolex Submariner. Cost may have had something to do with this decision, but the CWC watch had a huge act to follow, which it did with flying colours.  It met all of the expectations required by the Ministry of Defense, and passed their rigorous testing procedures to become the standard issue. the CWC RN is built to full military specifications. The quartz version of this watch is this watch is currently issued to the RN divers, the Royal Marines and is an option for the SAS, so the watch is designed as a military instrument and therefore has the full military specifications. This being that the Ministry of Defense have rigorous testing for all of the equipment that they purchase such as operation in hot/cold conditions, low pressure/high pressure (for altitude), drop tests, collision testing, water testing, accuracy tests in over 6 positions. These are for durability and accuracy that has to be endured in the field in the most extreme of conditions. The testing went on for a period of about 3 weeks or longer. Mindful of these facts, the watch is fully capable of enduring the conditions presented to everyday use. The NATO strap is a genuine British military issue (the same one that goes to the forces, and not a cheap replica) and can be worn on outer garments. As a military instrument, and given the extreme operating environments, this watch is 100% fit for purpose.  It is solid, strong and extremely durable and legible.  It is plain, but highly functional, indestructible built to last with strong case, crystal, strap and movement which will endure the toughest of conditions.  It has a black dial with tritium luminous markings, military markings on dial, and fixed bars for the strap, hardened mineral glass and screw down crown.  It has military ordnance numbers stamped on the back. Supplied on NATO strap in special presentation tin. Used but mint condition 2 month old Max Bill automatic. UK retail price is £575 (US $940). The Max Bill design watch is remains true to form of the original Max Bill design watches dating from the 1950’s.  Almost nothing has altered apart from the fact that it is constructed today from modern materials in a modern environment, and of course with a modern movement.  These factors make for an altogether more accurate, stronger and more reliable wristwatch.  It is a classical design and looks like it has stepped right of the decade from which it was first introduced – and many watches standards were set by designs like this one.  It has got a 25 jeweled Swiss made ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. The case is gold plated which is highly polished, and slender and sleek in deign.  It has a solid steel snap on case back which bears Max Bill’s signature.  The dial is mat black with minute markings and hour markings giving a very minimalist feel to it.  Long flowing lines seem to be the main design influence, therefore the hour markers and hands are long.  The long hands touch the correct points where the hour hand tips the hour marks, the minute hand touches the minute marks numbers, and the central sweep second hand follows the same line as the minute hand, just tipping the minute/second marks as it sweeps past them.  The hands are luminous filled, with double luminous dot at the 12 position, and single luminous dots at the 3, 6 and 9 position.  Has an attractive convex highly domed plexi glass acrylic crystal, which at some angles makes the dial appear slightly curved, creating an appealing effect. This is the same as the regular automatic, but this time, with date at the 3 position It comes on a good quality black leather strap with polished steel pin buckle.  Made in Germany with Swiss movement. Brand new with 2 year warranty, comes with box and instructions.  Junghans reference 027/4701.00. This one looks like it has hardly been used, but was purchased in October 2003 so just under three years old.  It is a magnificent shaped and sized watch, which is round with long lugs, extended pump pushers and over sized crown.  It has a black dial with silver hands and number/baton markings with white and red dial print.  The case is polished stainless steel with screw on solid steel case back. The movement is an ETA modular movement, it has a curved sapphire crystal.  Comes on the original black leather strap with signed deployant clasp.  It comes with inner box, outer box, and instruction/warranty booklet.  UK Retail price is £1250 (US $2200). Dimensions are Width including the crown is 43 mm, width excluding the crown is 47 mm, lug to lug is 51 mm and thickness is 14.5 mm Ref. NWW 553 sold

"When Sewills of Liverpool ceased trading in 2001, the German company who manufactured the watches for Sewills still had undelivered stock of movements and components. Universal Genève have long since been one of Switzerland’s eminent watchmakers.  They were founded in 1894 in Le Locle in the Jura mountains.  After they achieved rapid growth and success, they relocated to Geneva in 1934 and set out to conquer the world with a production of quality timepieces, which is the result of research, competence and sheer passion.  They have been responsible for many innovations in watch making and still operate today with as much success as they did when they first set out over a hundred years ago.  The Senna watch is a symbol of refinement both in style and the use of modern materials.  The “41” represents the essence of the Formula One World Champion himself: perfection, precision and an international outlook.  Ayrton Senna won 41 Grand Prix races, hence the name.  The Senna foundation is a non profit making charity.  All profits from the Senna foundation go towards child development charities.  The Senna watch gives a whole new dimension to the notion of measuring time and appeals to the discerning customer who identify themselves with quality watch making.  The automatic chronograph is contemporary and stylish, and is the embodiment of flare and creativity as found in the high speed world motor racing.  The case is solid and substantial stainless steel trimmed with carbon fibre.  The screw down pushers and crown are carbon fibre lined which makes them easy to grip and light to use.  It also has every odd link in the bracelet made of carbon fibre.  The bracelet has the Senna logo on the clasp and has a fliplock safety buckle on the clasp.  Has a sapphire crystal, water resistant to 200 metres, has a day and date and attractive “racing” patterns within the sub registers.  Comes with warranty card, booklets, very heavy tin made out of steel and outer box. Also comes with the original press release pack when it was launched in the UK – the UK launch was in Harrods in London, and some of the literature is on Harrods letter headed paper.   Dimensions are 41 mm excluding crown, 44 mm including crown and 45 mm lug to lug and 15 mm thick. Mint condition Ikepod Isopode Chronograph limited edition chronometer Ikepod is billed as the “wristwatch redefined”, Ikepod banish all that is unnecessary to reunite man and machine with the design authority and organic power found in nature.  This is because the designs they take their inspiration from shapes and patterns found not only in nature, but other objects designed to interact with nature such as simple aerodynamics of a sports car or a surfboard.  Ikepod combines the technology of watch making with sensuality in design to manufacture wristwatches which challenge connoisseurs to embrace not only a timepiece but a bold new set of values.  Foremost amongst these values is the independence from the conventions of traditional watch making design.  With belief in the modernist principals of “truth to materials” and unity of form and function, Ikepod rejects gratuitous ornamentation in order to highlight the simplicity of form.  It transforms what has previously been strictly a two dimensional object into an organic, sculptural volume that functions in all three dimensions.  The Ikepod approach deign is weighted with integrity.  When the design process strips away all excess the thing that remains is unrivalled quality and purpose.  Ikepod demands intelligence and daring from its wearer and declares individuality as the most exclusive form of luxury.  The designer of Ikepod watches is an artist, Marc Newson, he has art works at museums all over the world.  The watch is space ship in shape and the inspiration in nature here is more from that of a jellyfish.. The case is steel it is spherical in shape and when viewed in profile, it is elliptical.  The automatic movement is a Swiss made 25 jewel ETA caliber 2892 with a Dubois Depraz chronograph module.
