Used but mint condition Fortis Official Cosmonauts Chronograph with Lemania 5100 automatic movement. It comes on the original bracelet with all links and spare Fortis signed original black leather strap with original buckle. Fortis are a company dating back to 1912 and based in Grenchen, Switzerland. In more recent times, they have been at the forefront in the development of rugged and durable pilot and military instrument watches. This one is a used but mint condition, Official Cosmonauts Chronograph which is a certified Swiss chronometer. Fortis are the suppliers to the Russian Cosmonauts, and the Russian Mig pilots, as well as Swiss Air Force pilots. This one as the name suggests is the official cosmonauts watch. It is a large watch and designed for maximum visibility in a true pilot or navigators style. The chronograph function as a complication of a wristwatch has its origin from sports, though in many cases, the demands of military applications gave it new impulses for its development. The competence of Fortis in the production of precision chronographs is confirmed by aeronautical squadrons from all over the world, which have chosen Fortis as their equipment for professional duty. Swiss made Lemania 5100 automatic movement, which is modified to incorporate an additional 24 hour hand at the 3 position to indicate the 24 hour version of the current time – this is an essential feature of the cosmonauts when travelling in space. It has a sandblasted stainless steel case, with large numerals and hands. These are tritium. It has screw down pushers and a screw down crown with sapphire crystal and water resistant to 200 metres. Used but Mint condition V-Max Freestyle quartz wristwatch. Originally sold by us 6 months ago, and taken back in stock as a part exchange in unworn condition. It is designed to a hard wearing and practical specification and priced at a sensible level so as to make the watch affordable to most people. It is also designed to be worn either as an everyday watch or as a beater. Function and form have been the prime most considerations when laying out the specification. This is because it is meant to be a utility type watch. To this end it has been well constructed using high grade materials, crystal, dial and movement using Swiss materials. It has a military feel to it and the dial is based on the 1960’s Vietnam era military watches. The case is made out of solid high grade 316 L stainless steel, which has a sandblasted finish. The case is large and heavy. It has got a screw down crown which is engine turned to allow easy use of the crown. The case back is screw down and these two combined give the watch a water rating of 200 metres. It also has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal which is a hard glass and can only be scratched by material of equivalent strength or stronger than sapphire. The bracelet is a solid link bracelet with solid end links where it attaches to the watch. It is sandblasted/polished finish. The clasp is a folding clasp with double push button security release as well as a fliplock safety clasp. It has got a uni directional ratchet operated rotating bezel with a full 60 minute scale which can be used for independent timing of up to one hour. The movement is a Swiss made Ronda quartz powered movement. The dial and hands are self illuminating. Small glass tubes are coated on the inside with luminous matter, filled with gaseous tritium and then sealed airtight. The electrons emitted by the tritium gas cause activation of the luminous matter without the need to external light charging. There are 12 tritium tubes providing the luminescence. The minute and hour hands also contain the tritium tubes making them luminous. The luminescence is green for the dial and hands and orange at the 12 o’clock. Used but mint condition Poljot Aviator military style hand wound chronograph. It is a Strumanskie and has a 3133 chronograph movement with 23 ruby jewels. The watch has got an internal rotating bezel which is operated by the crown at the 9 position. All stainless steel case and acrylic crystal. The Poljot 3133 is made in Russia and produced under licence as it is based on the Valjoux 7733. Water resistant 3 ATM. Anti-shock device on balance staff. Date-of-the month calendar at the 6 position on the dial. Chronograph has 30 minute elapsed timer at 3 with a red hand. The continuous seconds are 9 with the white hand. The 60 second chronograph hand is the red sweep hand. Chronograph functions are distinguished from the other watch functions as the hands are red. Green luminous hands and markings. Approximately 42 hour power reserve. It has a guaranteed accuracy from -10 to +20 seconds/day. Outstanding Sinn 203 classic looking chronograph. It was customised by Sinn at the factory to a specific customer order. This was to have the white chronograph hands replaced with red chronograph hands. It has recently had a Sinn service, with case and bracelet clean and is in outstanding condition throughout. Classic and rugged sporty looks with uni directional ratcheted rotating bezel with red inverted triangle at the 12 position for easy identification of the markings. It is an outstanding design and a very functional feel and look to it. Like all Sinn watches it is built to a high standard, well designed, well finished but at entry level pricing for such a finely made watch, which in all gives excellent value for money. Incorporating the highly functional and technical Valjoux 7750 movement, this watch is a real work horse. The design is outstanding and has been around for a number of years, it is reminiscent of the railway type watches with the silver dial, highly polished case and the red chronograph hands.
