Excellent condition Rolex Precision Manual winding solid 9k gold dress watch from 1962. This watch is a magical find and a collectors dream. It comes with the original inner box and outer box which are in excellent condition. It also comes with the original stamped Rolex guarantee indicating the model number, 3027 and stamped by Feitelsons Jewellers in East Ham, London on 21st September 1962. The guarantee booklet also contains photos and instructions on how to look after your Rolex. It also comes with the original sales receipt from Feitlesons marked with the same date as the guarantee and was originally sold for £40 and 10 shillings which was a fair sum in 1962. The watch comes with two service receipts from Rolex UK, serviced once in 1980 and again in 1985. Due to this fact plus the fact that the original owner retained all of the boxes, papers and receipts, it has clearly been a treasured and well looked after wristwatch. The box and papers make the watch very valuable. The inner and outer box alone sells for £200 to £300 and the papers sell individually for £150 to £200. The watch itself is in excellent condition with an even and mild fading. It has a slender and classically styled case and dial taking up most of the width of the watch. It has long and slender lugs. The crown is original with the Rolex crown logo on it. The dial is silver in colour with slight yellowing due to its age, setting it off perfectly against the gold case. Mint condition Rolex Submariner non date model from 1985. This is the famous model reference 5513, the one that the British military used for issue to the Royal Marines in the late 9160’s and 1970’s. If it can live up to the standard of the military, it is good enough for every day use This is the later version though known as a transitional model – this being one which has a dial seen on later model non date submariners, with the white gold surrounds around the luminous dots, but still retaining the acrylic crystal. The transitional models are rarer than regular ones since they were made for short periods of time. In addition the 5513 prices are constantly rising due to the collectability of vintage Rolex sports models. It is a handsome watch worn for business or leisure, but is primarily a highly functional and reliable divers watch. This is the famous model reference 5513, the one that the British military used for issue to the Royal Marines in the late 9160’s and 1970’s. It has had very little wear in it’s life and was most likely a “special occasion” watch, one worn with Sunday best at Easter and Christmas. The case has had little polishing as the concentric machined circles are still clearly visible on the case back – these often disappear with excessive polishing over the years. It has a slender and classically styled case and dial taking up most of the width of the watch. It has long and slender lugs. The dial is champagne in colour, setting it off perfectly against the gold case. It has a slim gold baton markers, which are black coated at the primary hour points of 3, 6 and 9, with a gold sweep second hand, and black hour and minute hand. Excellent condition for year Rolex Oyster. It has the original paperwork which is dated 1956 and comes in a genuine Rolex box with Rolex wallet – probably not original to the watch as they appear to be for later Rolexes, but genuine Rolex all the same. The watch is in perfect condition and on the electronic timing machine it is indicating that it is gaining just 15 seconds per day – quite spectacular for the age of the watch. This one has a stunning polished silver dial with silver baton and numeral markings, making it look the absolute classic that it is. Naturally it is showing some patina to the dial.
