Compared to the rest of the range of Breitling watches, this one is a decent value for money watch. This especially so given that it is also classed as a professional instrument with it’s 2000 metre or 6600 feet depth rating. It is hard wearing and feels heavy and substantial. Thick brushed steel case with sapphire crystal which has an anti reflective coating. It has a screw down crown and helium escape valve. Has bright luminous dial markings and hands against a brushed black steel dial, and a date at the 3 position. Has a sturdy uni directional ratchet operated rotating bezel with riders at the primary number positions. This particular one with this dial configuration is now discontinued and is a sought after model. For the first time, a watch featured a "navigation computer" capable of executing every calculation a flight plan requires. Absolutely mint and looks new condition Breitling Chrono-Matic Calibre 11 automatic winding chronograph. This watch was in it’s day as valued and highly regarded as Breitling watches are today. They are renowned for their strong and durable build quality, their innovative designs, their good looks and they are well known for their long association for timekeeping in the aviation industry. This watch is no exception. It is a handsome and strong watch with practical features. The dial is beautiful and a perfectly balanced combination of timekeeping and chronograph functions, keeping the un necessary clutter found on the "wannabe" watches to an absolute minimum – essential when used for professional or aviation purposes. The dial is a two register chronograph, which is unusual to find in an automatic as most automatics have three sub registers. Has Breitling signed movement, dial and case back. It is very retro looking in its square case with short lugs. This style of watch is very much in vogue at present with the huge resurgence in interest of the Heuer Monaco et al watches. It has attractive and lovely contrasting dial colours and an eye catching attractive dial design and case design. Whilst it is primarily a dress watch, it does have a sporty feel to it, and certainly has the sporty functions such as the chronograph and the tachometric scale. This is the classic Navitimer originally produced in the 1950,s. this one dates to the mid to late 60’s. The watch is all stainless steel, very large and substantial and is a true instrument timepiece. It naturally has the rotating slide rule intended to help pilots to calculate flight plans, navigate and perform other flight or mathematical related calculations. The chronograph functions are distinguished from the timekeeping functions, as the hands are coloured in bright orange. The 60 second elapsed timer is the large sweep second chronograph hand, the thirty minute elapsed timer is at the 3 position and the twelve hour elapsed timer is at the 6 position. The Long Player watches, like most other Breitling vintage watches are becoming very collectible. Especially with this movement. The two register Valjoux 7733 versions are easy to come across. But this one is the three register with additional 12 hour function version with the Valjoux 7736. Unlike the 2 register version, this one is a much bigger and substantial watch. It is a very attractive looking watch, plain, simple yet very striking and effective. It is gold plated case with silver dial and black sub registers. The dial has lovely contrasting colours with black and silver as well as the gold sweep chronograph hand, against the gold applied baton markers and black dial printing. Mint condition and has not been worn more than a dozen times, absolutely flawless and unmarked Breitling Navitimer automatic chronograph. The watch was purchased from UK main agents in May 2006 making the watch only 3 months old. It comes with a copy of the original purchase receipt with the purchase price of £2,495 on the receipt. The Navitimer was first introduced in 1952, the Navitimer provided pilots and air crews with a highly innovative chronograph design. For the first time, a watch featured a "navigation computer" capable of executing every calculation a flight plan requires. These include: multiplication, division, calculating ground speed, calculating miles per hour, calculating miles per minute, calculating fuel consumption, calculating rate of climb or descent, calculating the distance of climb or descent and nautical and statute mile conversion. This is a true professional instrument watch that has been adapted to today's even more strenuous requirements. The case has now been made water tight and it is water resistant to 100 metres (330 feet), it has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal which is also glare proof. Mint condition Breitling Trans Ocean chronograph with hand wound Valjoux 7740 movement. The dial is in stunning condition as is the upper side of the case. The dial is a beautiful design, symmetrical balance, well laid out and technical in nature. It has an internal fixed bezel giving a two tier effect to the dial. This bezel has numbers zero to one hundred. It has a combined pulsometer and tachometer scale in printed in the outer part of the dial. The pulsometer is printed first in yellow with the words with the words “base 15 pulsations”. After that the tachometer starts at 220 through to 60, and is in UPH (units per hour), and printed in white. The thirty minute elapsed timer is at the 3 position and the 12 hour elapsed timer is at the 9 position. The 60 second chronograph elapsed timer is the large sweep yellow hand which matches the pulosmeter print. The dial colourings are very attractive with a mat steel effect silver dial, polished steel applied baton markers, blue sub dials and timing rings with white and yellow print and hands. Date window at the 6 position adding tot the perfect dial balance. The bracelet is a replacement, but is perfect for the watch as it fits snugly and is thick and sturdy. This is seen in the sub dial at the 12 position which has a very itnersting 10 minute countdown timer, which is used to time the start of yacht races. In the sub dial is a bule and red disc viewed through an aperture, these plates become blocked off as the top disc on the aperture moves over them to count down.
