Mint and barely worn condition Bremont Martin Baker MBII with anthracite barrel. It was originally purchased in Feb 2012 from authorised dealers Selfridges in London. The retail price on the watch is over £3,100. Bremont is an award-winning British company producing beautifully engineered chronometers at their Headquarters in Henley on Thames, England. Time began for Bremont when they embarked on a journey to make beautifully crafted pilot’s watches of exceptional quality. Flying historic aircraft has been in Bremont’s blood from an early age, as has their love for watches and all things mechanical. The timepieces have to be tested beyond any normal call of duty (and not just in the workshop), and of course be immensely precise and durable. Bremont make their watches to a very high specification for the price point and every watch in our standard range is Chronometer certified. The MB collection by Bremont consists of aviation watches for professionals. These timepieces have been created through the cooperation with British aviation company Martin Baker (MB), who are a world leader in the design and manufacture of ejection seats. The second hand of the watch has a yellow and black loop and replicates the ejector seat toggle in a cockpit – pull the toggle and the ejector seat is deployed, thus saving the pilot’s life. The MBII watch is equipped with modified 13 1/4 BE-36AE automatic calibre that performs 28 800 vibrations per hour and has 25 bearing jewels. The movement brags 38-hour power reserve, glucydur balance and Nivaflex 1 mainspring. The calibre is tested by Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronométres (COSC) – the official Swiss institute that certifies chronometers. A day and date display is positioned at 3 o'clock. Additional features include patented bi-directional rotating bezel, luminous dial elements, screw-in case back and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating. The case is made of steel hardened to 2000 vickers which is thirty percent harder than regular stainless steel, the barrel of the watch is engine turned and anodised anthracite. It comes with the leather strap and fabric strap as standard. Dimensions are Width including the crown is 43 mm, width excluding the crown is 45 mm, lug to lug is 50 mm and thickness is 14.5 mm.
