In 1971 we were living in the space age and the arrival of this watch confirmed that we were well entrenched in the digital age of consumer computer ware. With watch production reaching new heights, and re editions being made of the classic 50’s and 60’s watches, there is a yearning for remakes of the 1970’s watches that came to market by the mass produced millions and took the market by storm. The LED Watches were introduced in 1971, but as many trends change, they were virtually replaced over night by the LCD digital watches. The difference being the LED watches you had to press a button to display the time in red lights. With LCD watches, the time was permanently on display in grey digital numerals. The original LED watches are all but gone now, but thanks to the innovations of Connect, the LED watches are back with us again. They are designed in the tradition 1970’s fashion, use the same technology, but made with modern materials and circuitry, and taking inflation into account, cost no less tan they did in 1970! The net result here is that the watch is reliable, accurate, long lasting, cost effective but looks the absolutely authentic 1970’s cult classic LED watch. It is housed in a brushed steel case and bracelet with original 70’s style sharp red LED display This is an excellent modern re production of the classic 1970’s LED watch. The numbers are self illuminating and not backlit via light emitting diodes on the internal circuitry.
