The Original Glycine Airman was born in 1953, and was a world success. This model was launched at the 2002 Basel Watch Fair to meet the demand for this legendary classic – it is a true and perfect homage to original 1953 Glycine Airman. It is the same design and same size as the 1953 original.

Stunning new Glycine model to compliment the existing Airman range with a world time chronograph, which is built to full specification that a chronograph should be built to. Glycine are the first manufacturer in the world to get use of the ETA new version of the Valjoux 7750. This is the Valjoux 7754 which is a 25 jewel movement adapted to incorporate a chronograph as well as a world time function. The movement features hours, minutes, chronograph 60 second counters 30 minute counter, 12 hour counter, date display in window at three position, central 24 hour second timezone hand. The movement has a 48 hour power reserve. The movement has a rose gold coated oscillating weight on ball bearing for automatic winding, decorated "Côtes de Genève", engraved with an old fashioned propeller airplane. The bridges are rhodium coated and decorated "perlé" with visible heat treated blued screws. The case is stainless steel with a full steel bracelet, screw down over size crown and sapphire crystal to the front and back. Bi directional ratchet rotating bezel with 24 hour display on the bezel for use with a theoretical third timezone. Water resistant to 200 metres. Bracelet attaches to the case, not by spring bars, but by screw in bars. The watch comes with a spare rubber strap and a strap changing tool and the operation of changing straps is simplified with the screw in bars, yet retains maximum security. The bracelet has a double push button butterfly deployant clasp. Attractive dial colour scheme with mat black dial, black calendar wheel, red dual time hand and red circle around sub dial at 6. Glycine Airman 7

Glycine are a company who remain enthusiastic and at the forefront of unique and bold new designs. This is the totally unique and very desirable Airman 7. There is no other watch like this and it has been a brave step by Glycince, but one that has paid off for them as it has been a runaway success. It is a large watch primarily designed for pilots, navigators, traders or anybody else who needs to view multiple time zones simultaneously. The Airman can display four time zones in a single dial. There are three separate automatic movements powering the three different watches under the same dial. The large dial displays the local time in a 24 hour clock. It also has an independently settable second time zone hand, which is the red hand. This is powered by and ETA 2893 automatic winding movement. The other two dials are also independent time zones but in twelve hour formats. As they each have their own movements, they are of course independent of each other and the main local time dial. They each have an ETA 2671 automatic winding movement. It has a sapphire crystal to the front and the display back. The water resistance is 5 ATM and it is supplied on a high quality vanilla smelling rubber strap. It is a large and substantial wristwatch, not really suitable to be worn on narrow wrists, but looks spectacular, unique and a most definite conversation piece on medium or large wrists. Another absolutely stunning looking blue dial version of the Airman 8. This time the dial is in iridescent blue which is beautifully offset against a navy blue leather strap. The watch has a stainless steel case with screw display back, double "O" ring screw down crown providing water resistance to 200 metres. Has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. The watch has a red independently settable dual time zone or GMT hand to tell the time in a second time zone. Also the time in a third time zone can be monitored by reading off the 24 hour rotating bezel. They have been around for some time but are making a big comeback possibly due to the success of the Rolex "salmon" colour dials which in essence are copper colour. Outstanding Glycine Airman, which is the modern equivalent of the 1953 original Airman, in slightly bigger design. It has a conventional hour hand which rotates the dial every 12 hours like a regular wristwatch, but it is on a 24 hour dial. This is for the red independently settable GMT / Dual time zone hand which rotates the dial every 24 hours. Also the time in a third time zone can be monitored by reading off the 24 hour rotating bezel. This rotating bezel is unlike the other two Airman watches. Instead of the crown locking the bezel into place, it has the more modern ratchet operated bezel which is uni directional as required for by navigational use. The main emphasis of this watch is for telling the time across multiple time zones. This is often done by flight engineers, navigators, military personnel etc – as well as financiers, bankers or other business people trading across time zones.
