The Bienne 1914 was built to commemorate the first year in which Glycine began watch production. They have made a spectacular commemorative model to mark this important year in their history. The watch a hand wound Swiss made ETA 2801-2 movement. It has an absolutely stunning clean looking curved black dial, with sharply contrasting round-polished silver applied numerals and feuille style polished hands offset against a beautiful polished black dial, and complementing the highly polished stainless steel case. Whilst the dial markings are large, the dial is also minimalist in design, and has the bear minimum of dial marks to provide instant legibility without the unnecessary clutter. It is water resistant to 3 ATM. Has a softly domed crystal and acrylic display back, solid stainless steel case. Glycine F 104 with Unitas manual winding 6498 movement. If there was ever a man size watch, this has to be it. Made for the large in wrist, or large in character or both. Whichever, this is a pocket watch size wrist on a strap. In the Glycine catalogue description, it states "Glycine F 104, an instrument has turned into a wristwatch, featuring the perfect size for anything but normality". The watch itself indeed is intended to look like an instrument such as a dashboard clock or cockpit clock, and is probably the same size too. It can be taken off and strapped to the dashboard as it is certainly legible form a driving or flying position when stuck to the dash. It has a polished stainless steel case with mat black dial and bold highly legible hands and numerals. The dial is tiered, with a sixty minute scale on a fixed inclined internal bezel to further the instrument clock appearance. It has swivel lugs to ensure it fits on the not so thick wrist.
