Mint, brand new and unworn Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Taille hand winding wristwatch. It is a limited edition of only 100 pieces and this one is number 14 of 100. It celebrates 125 years of the Reverso and sold in conjunction with worldwide retailers, Wempe. It was originally purchased in 2003, but has not been used as there is no wear to the strap and it is unmarked. Jaeger LeCoultre are one of the few elite Swiss watchmakers who manufacture their own movements in house.  They are a company was established in 1833 in the Vallee de Joux watch making region of Switzerland.  They are highly regarded for their quality timepieces, technical innovation, and one of the most stringent and fanatical testing centres in Switzerland.  Jaeger-LeCoultre have been instrumental in the development of wrist alarms, and they developed the first automatic wrist alarm 1958. Jaeger-LeCoultre were also instrumental in developing this complication and it is a function which is popular and widely used in wristwatches today. This is a beautifully engineered and crafted wristwatch which is in an Art Deco style, a design of Jaeger-LeCoultre which has been largely unchanged for decades. The case is polished stainless steel, which is perfectly symmetrical, well finished with smoothly integrated angles making a classical masterpiece in looks, especially with its tiered Art Deco style case edges, large square pushers and large crown. Being a Reverso, the face part of the watch slides across and can be reversed to display the case back. The original ingenious idea being to protect the crystal if the user was embarking on an activity that could potentially damage the face of the watch. However the back of this watch is also a crystal and the movement is displayed when it is reversed. The crystals on both sides are scratch resistant sapphire crystal and are un blemished. The dial is white with Roman numerals and blued steel épée hands. There is a day night indicator at the top centre of the dial, and moon phase indicator at the lower centre of the dial, with these two complications, it makes for a fine looking classical masterpieces. This is also very evident when the watch is reversed and the movement is displayed and is more of an art form than a piece of precision engineering (though it is a precision engineered movement of course). The movement is an in house Swiss made calibre 823, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, blued steel screws, 23 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, shock resistant. It comes on the original Jaeger-LeCoultre leather strap with folding clasp. It comes with all boxes and papers with limited edition guarantee card showing it is number 14 or 100. Please note, the last picture in the sequence is a catalogue scan The dimensions are 26 mm excluding crown, 28 mm including crown and 42 mm lug to lug and thickness is 10 mm. Ref: NWW 847. Mint condition Jaeger LeCoultre automatic alarm watch in wonderful retro styling on the original Jaeger LeCoultre  signed bracelet. Jaeger LeCoultre have been instrumental in the development of wrist alarms, and they developed the first automatic wrist alarm 1958.  This one dates from the late 1960’s to early 1970’s, which can be quite evident from the design.  The design is typical of this era of wristwatch styling.  It is big bold, and once regarded as kitsch when this styling went out of fashion, but now entered a new era of cool.  It is a chunky stainless steel case with seconds on a silver and blue “bulls eye” style setting disc.  Has a Jaeger LeCoultre wording at the 12 position, and the JL logo as an applied marker at the 9 position.  The alarm itself is hand wound and set and wound by the crown at the 2 position.  The alarm set is indicated by the blue pointer on the inner setting disk. The crown at the 4 position sets the hands and the date – the date is quick set by advancing and regressing past the 12 position.   The alarm works on cue and is a good resonating sound.  There is no alarm sound like that of a wrist alarm – which is quirky and practical.  Comes on the original signed Jaeger LeCoultre bracelet and has two original Jaeger LeCoultre setting crowns.  UK retail price for a modern Jaeger le Coultre alarm is £3,395 or US $5,430.  Dimensions are: width 39 excluding crown, 41 mm including crown and pushers, lug to lug 468 mm, thickness 12 mm. Today Jaeger Le Coultre clocks and watches cannot be bought from new for less than around £2,000. This is a beautiful all around condition travel alarm clock which utilizes jeaeger Le Coultres famous hand winding alarm movement. The case is a gilt case which is initially in the style of a half hunter case with the hour track forming part of the case in a black track with gold numerals.. The time can be viewed through the aperture in the half hunter case front. The case opens out and the case front swivels around to form a stand so the clock can be placed on a bedside or a desk. When closed or folded out, it makes for a very attractive and pretty little clock in an Art Deco style. The alarm and the watch movement are wound up manually by the crowns at the 11 and 2 positions. These crowns are flush with the case and are signed with the Jaeger le Coultre logo. The alarm is set by the crowns and indicated by the pointer set in a central disk in the dial. The clock keeps good time and the alarm sounds on cue and is loud enough to wake anybody up. This is more so when sat on the opened position on its stand as the sound reverberates through the stand against the surface making quite a loud din. It has a loop over the 12 position so the watch can be tied on a chain or  piece of lace. Beautiful and attractive little watch. Dimensions are: width is 38 mm at the widest point. top to bottom, 43 mm and thickness is 10 mm. Ref: NWW 730. Price is £695 or US $1,145

Jaeger Le Coultre travel alarm clock. Jaeger le Coultre are one of the few elite Swiss watchmakers who manufacture their own movements in house. They are a company was established in 1833 in the Vallee de Joux watch making region of Switzerland. They are highly regarded for their quality timepieces, technical innovation, and one of the most stringent and fanatical testing centres in Switzerland. Jaeger Le Coultre have been instrumental in the development of wrist alarms, and they developed the first automatic wrist alarm 1958. Today Jaeger Le Coultre clocks and watches cannot be bought from new for less than around £2,000. This one is an Excellent condition travel alarm clock with clever design. Usually the alarm will activate every 12 hours, so if set to 8 am, it will also activate at 8 pm. This one however will only activate once every 24 hours. If set to 8 am, it wont go off at 8 pm as the alarm setting mechanism is a 24 hour device. The clock is an 8 day clock so lasts over a week on a single wind. There is also plenty of wind in the alarm as well. When the alarm goes off a small button on the side of the case stops the alarm. One single push stops it but you don’t have to re-set it to reactivate the alarm like you do on most other alarm clocks. This again is another ingenious device. In addition the hands will tell you if it is day or night as there is a very subtle indicator at the centre of the hands which turn black for height and white for day. We all know when it is night or day, but this is to show you that the hands are in correct synchronisation with the alarm, so if it is set to 8 pm you are sure it is 8 pm because the black part tells you so – very clever indeed. . The case is brass and the case is read leather in mint and barely used condition. The movement makes a lovely smooth ticking noise and the winding action of the movement and the alarm is also silky smooth, which is unlike on some cheaper clocks which have a rough rasp winding and grating ticking noise. Has an attractive art deco looking dial with alarm activation indicator in the aperture in the upper centre, pearl silver dial and acrylic crystal. These watches were once very popular with travellers and holiday makers.  They are small and compact and fold up inside their own leather covered steel cases to protect them whilst in transit.  They fit neatly into the pocket and the traveller can tell the time by taking it from a pocket.  Once at the destination the traveller, could permanently have the watch by their bedside or on the night table.  The watch is propped upright by a self contained stand, which also forms the cover to protect the dial when packed up in the luggage.  Dimensions are: width 72 mm left to right, 78 mm top to bottom, 32 mm when closed. Jaeger le Coultre model reference number is 140.2.80. The UK recommended retail price on this model is GBP £21,000 which is US $33,600 by today’s exchange rate. Jaeger-LeCoultre have been instrumental in the development of wrist alarms, and they developed the first automatic wrist alarm 1958. Jaeger-LeCoultre were also instrumental in developing this complication and it is a function which is popular and widely used in wristwatches today. This is a beautifully engineered and crafted wristwatch which has got one of the finest calendar movements in it.  With Master control, watch making pioneer, Jaeger-LeCoultre has created a new standard of reliability in Swiss watch making. Each watch is therefore subjected to a rigorous testing programme. Before being passed as a Master Control watch, each timepiece must undergo 1,000 hours of the most severe tests. This testing programme is more demanding than the official tests which only involve the watch movement. At Jaeger-LeCoultre it is the finished cased up watch, complete with hands and dial that is evaluated. The Master Control watch has spent 1,000 hours under observation in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s laboratories and has passed all the six position performance trials under temperatures between 4 and 40 degrees Celsius and within magnetic fields of 5,000 amperes/metre. The timepiece has also been subjected to shock and vibration resistance tests and the case withstood water resistance to a pressure of 5 atmospheres. Successful results in all of these tests give the watch the exclusive right to bear the title of “Master Control 1000 Hours”, certified by the signature of the watchmaker – inspector inside the case, and by the numbered seal engraved on the back of the watch. It is a perpetual calendar which means that there is no need for a date correction at the end of each month apart from leap years as the watch know when a month ends on the 30th or 31st days. It also has day, date, month, year and moon phase display. Another clever feature is the window just above the centre of the dial. It alternates between red and white. When showing red, the hands cannot be moved backwards when adjusting the time. When shown white the hands can be moved backwards to adjust the time. The case is solid 18 karat gold with a sapphire crystal front and sapphire crystal back which displays the beautifully decorated movement. It is 5 ATM water resistant. It comes with the original mint condition brown alligator strap with a spare original Jaeger-LeCoultre black alligator strap which is unused. It has the original 18krat rose gold deployant buckle which s a fair chunk of gold itself. Excellent condition Jaeger le Coultre manual winding 9 karat solid gold ladies dress watch, which comes on a solid gold bracelet and comes in the original box.  This is a stunning small ladies watch made by Jaeger le Coultre, one of the world’s most eminent watchmakers.  It is a stunning design and a very desirable and collectible.  It is well crafted, beautifully finished, elegant and refined. It comes on a superbly crafted large and intricately designed bracelet. The watch is more like a piece of jewellery in a thick gold bracelet, with a watch face set into it. This effect is exaggerated by the fact the winding and hand setting crown is on the case back – one of the trademark features of Jaeger le Coultre watches in the 1960’s. So the watch has no winding crown to the side of it, again giving the look of a watch face just set into a gold bracelet. This makes it a charming and elegant looking piece of jewellery with an watch face by one of the world’s best watchmakers set into it. It also radiates the sheer nobility and quality that is sought and felt in most Jaeger le Coultre watches. The dial is silver in colour, with matching gold applied batons and sender gold hands. The bracelet is long for a lady, and suitable to fit around a seven inch wrist it is also wide and thick with a fair weight to it weighing in at a total weight of 36 grams. At the current value of gold, the scrap value of the gold alone on the watch is worth £350 at the time of advertising. All round beautiful watch. The width of the watch head is 16 mm and the bracelet width is 19 mm, tapering off to 16 mm at the clasp bracelet. The thickness of the bracelet is 2.5mm, total watch thickness is 6 mm excluding the crown and 8 mm including the crown.  The length is 183 mm with the clasp fastened, this converts to 7.2 inches.  Ref. Today Jaeger Le Coultre clocks and watches cannot be bought from new for less than around £2,000. This one is an Excellent condition travel alarm clock. The case is metal and covered in leather, the leather is worn in parts and a top layer peeled off to the right side of the case. Opened up though and the dial and movement are in immaculate condition. All of the luminosity to the hands and numbers is fully in tact. The brushed copper dial is also in mint condition. It is very Art Deco in looks and indeed dates to this period, which is the 1930’s. The numbers are Art Deco in style and so are the hands, the hands are attravive blued steel which contrasts nicely against the copper dial. The movement makes a lovely smooth ticking noise and the winding action of the movement and the alarm is also silky smooth, which is unlike on some cheaper clocks which have a rough rasp winding and grating ticking noise. These clocks are very collectible and nice pieces of “the golden age of travel” era.  Dimensions are: width 63 mm left to right, 92 mm top to bottom, 24 mm when closed. Ref: VIN 494. sold
