In the 1990s Manfred Brassler, MeisterSinger's founder and designer, attracted a great deal of attention with his brand. These wristwatches, following the design characteristics of the German Bauhaus movement, won many accolades for their functional excellence and their clear design. The individuality of Meistersinger watches is characterised by their subtle style elements such as: clean and simple numerals, single numerals preceded by zero, distinctive needle shaped hands, gentle curvature of the glass. Taking inspiration form the Meistersinger school of music, Brassler's aim was, to create a new 'sound' without breaking with tradition.

Brand new and unworn MeisterSinger Unitas 1Z hand wound wristwatch. It is a unique award-winning single hand. There is a great attention to detail within the design. If one looks at each individual feature in its own right then it may not seem that notable. Viewed as a whole, however, this is indeed a remarkable watch. This design and flare for individuality and are the essence behind the unmistakable character of this as well as every other MeisterSinger watch. Somewhat reminiscent of a water pressure gauge, it is outstanding and commands a great presence when worn on the wrist. This is because a lot of watches look like other watches. However this is truly unique in it’s entire make up. It has a large case and face, bold numbers with single numbers preceded by zeros, one single needle hand, large crown, and hand wound Unitas 6497 movement, The movement is decorated with cote de Geneve bridges, diamond finish ratchet wheels, blued screws, hammered finish balance wheel plate, rhodium plated movement with a signed bridge – this signature appears in gold colour which is the brass beneath the rhodium plate, which is a nice finishing touch. It has a silver dial beautifully offset against the single large needle hand and the black leather strap. It has a brushed / polished stainless steel case, curved hardened mineral crystal to the front and back and it is 3 ATM water resistant. The Strap and buckle are original and signed as is the crown. Based upon similar design principles to the single hand watch, the Automatik is one for the more conventional as it has three hands telling time in the usual fashion, but still retains its unique look of the single hand watch. In addition to it being more conventional with three hands it is an automatic winding movement as well. The watch like the single handed watch is somewhat reminiscent of a water pressure gauge, it is outstanding and commands a great presence when worn on the wrist. This is because a lot of watches look like other watches. However this is truly unique in it’s entire make up. It has a large case and face, bold numbers with single numbers preceded by zeros, needle instrument type hands, large crown, and automatic 25 jewelled Swiss made ETA 2824-2 movement.
