To this end they achieved a great deal of success in producing, aviation, navigational and military wristwatches. They rose to world eminence when they were awarded the contract to build the Porsche Design watch. The original Porsche Design watches were designed by Ferdinand Porsche himself - the man who brought us the Porsche 911. He had the confidence in Orfina’s ability to manufacture his designs, and they executed, as expected, like true masters of horological excellence. Many of the Porsche design watches were sold to the retail public, but were also very popular with aviators, navigators and military personnel. The Orfina Porsche Design "3H military" model was issued to the German military forces in the 1970’s. Today Orfina continue to make traditional military and aviation watches. The main range is branded as "Royal Navy" Orfina is also known as "Uhrenschmiede". All Orfina watches are brand new with a manufacturers warranty and come in box with papers and warranty details.

Orfina Royal Navy Kampfschwimmer – Flat Crystal

Kampfschwimmer translates to “Navy Diver”. The Kampfschwimmer is a truly outstanding and unique looking watch. Whilst it is advertised as a flat crystal, it is very slightly domed, but certainly flat in comparison to the pagoda crystal version. It is an incredible looking and very striking watch that is a guaranteed talking point as it is something of a remarkable looking wristwatch. It is a retro looking watch and reminiscent of early pioneering divers watches. In the days before sophisticated crown, gas escape valves and sealing mechanisms, the crystals needed to be very thick to prevent them from cracking under submergence or re-surfacing pressures. However this one has got a regular flat crystal opposed to the Pagoda heavy domed crystal on the model shown below. This type of design was seen on early Rolexes and also on Panerai’s. The numbers are also large and bold to allow for maximum legibility maintaining the retro diver’s look. The movement is mechanical with hand winding ETA Unitas caliber 6497. It has 17 jewels and beats at 18,000 half vibration per hour. The case is stainless steel with, Pagoda magnifying crystal which is made of hardened mineral glass. Attractive coin edge bezel to add to the retro look to the watch. The case back is held in place with six screws. It is waterproof to 50 meters. The dial is mat black, with tritium luminous numbers. It comes in leatherette presentation box with warranty card and 1 year warranty. It is an outstanding execution of the 1940’s era navigator’s or aviators watch and is a design that was common to many air forces around the world. Taschenuhrwerk translates to "pocket watch movement" Despite it’s name it is not a pocket watch size, but is on the larger side. The Taschenuhrwerk is an outstanding military looking watch that is clear, practical looking and highly legible. Like many of the Orfina watches, it has unique looks, it is an eye catching piece, and is quite stunning in it’s clarity and focus. The movement is mechanical hand wound 17 jewel Unitas - ETA Calibre 6498, 17 which beats at 21,600 half vibrations per hour. It has a massive power reserve of 60 hours. The case is brushed pearl finished stainless steel with a polished solid steel case back. It has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal and onion winding crown. It is water resistant to 50 metres. The dial is distinctively military style in mat black finish, military triangle logo at the twelve position, Tritium luminous numbers and sword hands, and subsidiary seconds at the nine position.
