Mint and unused looking Rolex Daytona model reference 116520, which is a F series model purchased last year in 2004. It has been serviced by Rolex UK in October 2007 and comes with the service receipt to show this. This is the latest version of the Daytona with the Rolex in house movement.  The Daytona is one of the worlds most sought after wristwatch.  This is due to the fact that it carries on a long line of Rolex motor sport tradition with the Daytona, and the watch has had an association with sports and racing since the 1950’s.  It has also been seen worn by many film stars and celebrity racing drivers.  In addition the watch sports rugged good looks and is simply an stunning looking wristwatch with a sporty look and feel as well as having has a practical side to it with its twelve hour chronograph and tachometric bezel.  As well as this, Rolex manufacture so few of the Daytona’s that they are very rare and difficult to get hold of.  Typically there is a minimum of 5 to 7 year waiting list. Pre 2000 they had the Zenith el Primero movement, post 2000 they had the Rolex calibre movement. This one being post 2000 has the Rolex in house movement.  The Daytona is one of the ultimate status symbols, and if you have the money to spare then why not.  The watch naturally has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and has a screw down crown and screw down pushers making it a water proof watch to add to the spottiness of it.  It is a watch for all occasions, designed to take the knocks, but on such a watch that seems a waste – it needs to be treasured.  It comes with all boxes, papers and peripherals.  40 mm excluding crown, 43 mm including crown and 47 mm lug to lug and thickness is 14mm. Ref. ROL 308RN8. Price is £6,845 or US $10,985

Jaeger Le Coultre are one of the few elite Swiss watchmakers who manufacture their own movements in house.  They are a company was established in 1833 in the Vallee de Joux watch making region of Switzerland.  They are highly regarded for their quality timepieces, technical innovation, and one of the most stringent and fanatical testing centres in Switzerland.  Jaeger-LeCoultre have been instrumental in the development of wrist alarms, and they developed the first automatic wrist alarm 1958.  Jaeger-LeCoultre were also instrumental in developing this complication and it is a function which is popular and widely used in wristwatches today. This is a beautifully engineered and crafted wristwatch which has got one of the finest calendar movements in it.  With Master control, watch making pioneer, Jaeger-LeCoultre has created a new standard of reliability in Swiss watch making. Each watch is therefore subjected to a rigorous testing programme. Before being passed as a Master Control watch, each timepiece must undergo 1,000 hours of the most severe tests. This testing programme is more demanding than the official tests which only involve the watch movement. At Jaeger-LeCoultre it is the finished cased up watch, complete with hands and dial that is evaluated. The Master Control watch has spent 1,000 hours under observation in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s laboratories and has passed all the six position performance trials under temperatures between 4 and 40 degrees Celsius and within magnetic fields of 5,000 amperes/metre. The timepiece has also been subjected to shock and vibration resistance tests and the case withstood water resistance to a pressure of 5 atmospheres. Successful results in all of these tests give the watch the exclusive right to bear the title of “Master Control 1000 Hours”, certified by the signature of the watchmaker – inspector inside the case, and by the numbered seal engraved on the back of the watch. It is a perpetual calendar which means that there is no need for a date correction at the end of each month apart from leap years as the watch know when a month ends on the 30th or 31st days. It also has day, date, month, year and moon phase display. Another clever feature is the window just above the centre of the dial. It alternates between red and white. When showing red, the hands cannot be moved backwards when adjusting the time. When shown white the hands can be moved backwards to adjust the time. IWC Portuguese automatic chronograph in 18 karat gold in good condition.  Three years old, purchased in March 2006.  IWC have been making specialised and high quality watches in Switzerland since 1868. Many of the IWC vintage watches are now prized collectors items. They are a company who continue to produce high quality and unique watches for a more demanding current market. The IWC on a wrist bears a bold statement about the wearer of one – unique, precise attention to detail, demanding of the very best on offer. The Portuguese first came into being in the 1930’s when IWC made watches for two Portuguese businessmen, they continued the production of the Portuguese line and named them after the first two customers.  It is particularly apt that the watch should be so named, since the Portuguese once ruled the seas with superior navigational skills.  They took a great interest not only in navigation but also precise time measurement, and that is certainly something not amiss with IWC watches.  This watch is one of the most stunning looking watches being made today.  It is a large and heavy 18 karat gold case with solid case back.  The width is exaggerated to look larger as the dial is taken right up to the edge of the case.  It has a stunning black dial with gold applied numerals, and tapering swallow style hands.  The chronograph hands are also in gold.  It has a curved sapphire crystal, and automatic chronograph with the thirty minute elapsed timer at the 12 position, and the 60 second elapsed timer being the sweep hand.  The subsidiary seconds are at the 6 position.  Has an attractive seconds scale on a sloped internal bezel. Comes on high quality IWC signed brown leather strap and signed 18 karat gold buckle which is heavy in weight. The strap is 3 years old and is showing signes of wear, some marks to the case and bezel from normal use, but can be polished up to look new, but best left original.  It comes with all paperwork including signed warranty card, newer style “hard” inner box and outer box.   The UK list price of this watch is £7,850 (US $14,300). Dimensions are as follows. The width is 41 mm excluding crown, and 44 mm including the crown. The thickness is 13 mm and the lug to lug distance is 47.5 mm. Ref: IWC 102. Immaculate condition recently serviced IWC Flieger Mk XV on strap with genuine IWC deployant buckle. The buckle makes it around £200 more expensive than if it was with a pin buckle. Strap is a brand new generic replacement.  The watch was originally purchased form authorised dealers in 2002. The Mk XV pilot’s watch is a handsome durable and practical looking watch, with minimum of dial and design frills, it is just straight to the point and does it’s job exceptionally well.  It is one of the best looking IWC watches, and in fact one of the best military or aviation style watches available – based on the enormously successful and influential war time IWC MK XI wristwatch, it is a design classic and iconic wristwatch.  An IWC is one of the most desirable watches to own. The XV has been discontinued for around 3 or 4 years so as a result are becoming more collectible. It is made to usual Swiss fanatically high standards and each IWC watch is hand finished, and made to the highest of standards, where attention to detail is of essence. The MK XV like most IWC watches is plain, simple and uncluttered yet the minimalist and simplistic approach to the designs provide an unrestrained elegance. This is apparent in the MK XV as well as most other IWC watches. This one is in mint condition and showing minimal signs of wear and in stunning condition. It still has the black plastic seal on the case back. Black dial in military style with bold bright dial markings for instant legibility and designed in the style of the British military air crew watches. Sapphire crystal, screw down crown. It comes on a replacement black leather stitched strap but maintains the original and genuine IWC deployant clasp. IWC were once a supplier to the British military and the RAF pilots wore this style watch. The RAF issued watches are one of the most collectible of all military watches. Comes with box, and unsigned and undated paperwork, the outer box is a bit tatty. The dimensions are as follows: Width is 38 mm excluding crown and 41 mm including crown, lug to lug is 47 mm, Thickness is 11 mm.  Ref. IWC 101. reserved

Mint condition Ikepod Hemiphode GMT Chronograph limited edition chronometer Ikepod is billed as the “wristwatch redefined”, Ikepod banish all that is unnecessary to reunite man and machine with the design authority and organic power found in nature.  This is because the designs they take their inspiration from shapes and patterns found not only in nature, but other objects designed to interact with nature such as simple aerodynamics of a sports car or a surfboard.  Ikepod combines the technology of watch making with sensuality in design to manufacture wristwatches which challenge connoisseurs to embrace not only a timepiece but a bold new set of values.  Foremost amongst these values is the independence from the conventions of traditional watch making design.  With belief in the modernist principals of “truth to materials” and unity of form and function, Ikepod rejects gratuitous ornamentation in order to highlight the simplicity of form.  It transforms what has previously been strictly a two dimensional object into an organic, sculptural volume that functions in all three dimensions.  The Ikepod approach deign is weighted with integrity.  When the design process strips away all excess the thing that remains is unrivalled quality and purpose.  Ikepod demands intelligence and daring from its wearer and declares individuality as the most exclusive form of luxury.  The designer of Ikepod watches is an artist, Marc Newson, he has art works at museums all over the world.  The watch is space ship in shape and the inspiration in nature here is more from that of a jellyfish.  This is model reference H02. This type of watch is politely termed a homage since it looks identical to famous brand – namely Panerai. Calling it a replica is not quite correct as the watch doesn’t not have the word Panerai anywhere on it. The Marina Militaires are popular watches and make a large number of homage watches. The cost is a fraction of the t real thing. The case specs and dimension is identical to a Panerai, so it is generously proportioned, dimensions listed below. The case is brushed titanium, with crown lock. It has a glass display back showing off the movement. The movement is a nice looking Chinese made 27 jewel movement which I believe is a Seagull movement, it is similar looking to a Unitas 6498. The dial is a mat black dial with luminous dial markings and hands. Subsidiary second hand at the 9 position. The crystal is hardened mineral glass with anti reflective coating. It comes on a brown leather strap, with titanium buckle. All together an excellent watch and great value for money. Dimensions are as follows. The dimensions are as follows: width is 44 mm excluding crown and 50 mm including crown, Lug to lug is 53 mm, Thickness is 15 mm. Ref. NWW 595 Price is £175 or US $290
