Mint and unused looking Rolex Daytona model reference 11523. The new replacement cost is £8,870 (US $14,250). This is a steel and gold watch and has the automatic Zenith El Primero movement. It is a U serial watch which dates to 1999, purchased form Authorised Rolex dealers at Schipol Airport, Amsterdam. The steel and gold offers a more realistically priced version to the steel model, yet retains all of the desirability and charm of the ultimate Rolex sports model, with the added charisma of gold and steel. Since it has the Zenith movement, the value of the watch is greater than the Rolex movement watch due to the rarity of the Zenith movement in the Daytona. The Daytona was made with the Zenith movement for just a few years, and the Zenith version was less available than the current Daytona. There was the notorious seven year waiting list for the steel models. The Daytona is one of the worlds most sought after wristwatch.  This is due to the fact that it carries on a long line of Rolex motor sport tradition with the Daytona, and the watch has had an association with sports and racing since the 1950’s.  It has also been seen worn by many film stars and celebrity racing drivers.  In addition the watch sports rugged good looks and is simply an stunning looking wristwatch with a sporty look and feel as well as having has a practical side to it with its twelve hour chronograph and tachometric bezel.  As well as this, Rolex manufacture so few of the Daytona’s that they are very rare and difficult to get hold of.  Typically there is a minimum of 5 to 7 year waiting list. Pre 2000 they had the Zenith el Primero movement, post 2000 they had the Rolex calibre movement. The Daytona is one of the ultimate status symbols, and if you have the money to spare then why not.  The watch naturally has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, and has a screw down crown and screw down pushers making it a water proof watch to add to the sportyness of it.  It is a watch for all occasions, designed to take the knocks, but on such a watch that seems a waste – it needs to be treasured.  It comes with boxes, chronometer certificate and Oyster booklet.  Width is 40 mm excluding crown, 43 mm including crown and 47 mm lug to lug and thickness is 14mm. Ref. ROL 362. Price is £4,875 or US $7,795

Mint condition Ikepod Hemiphode GMT Chronograph limited edition chronometer Ikepod is billed as the “wristwatch redefined”, Ikepod banish all that is unnecessary to reunite man and machine with the design authority and organic power found in nature.  This is because the designs they take their inspiration from shapes and patterns found not only in nature, but other objects designed to interact with nature such as simple aerodynamics of a sports car or a surfboard.  Ikepod combines the technology of watch making with sensuality in design to manufacture wristwatches which challenge connoisseurs to embrace not only a timepiece but a bold new set of values.  Foremost amongst these values is the independence from the conventions of traditional watch making design.  With belief in the modernist principals of “truth to materials” and unity of form and function, Ikepod rejects gratuitous ornamentation in order to highlight the simplicity of form.  It transforms what has previously been strictly a two dimensional object into an organic, sculptural volume that functions in all three dimensions.  The Ikepod approach deign is weighted with integrity.  When the design process strips away all excess the thing that remains is unrivalled quality and purpose.  Ikepod demands intelligence and daring from its wearer and declares individuality as the most exclusive form of luxury.  The designer of Ikepod watches is an artist, Marc Newson, he has art works at museums all over the world.  The watch is space ship in shape and the inspiration in nature here is more from that of a jellyfish.  This is model reference H02. He was a very talented silver smith making jewelry and silver objects.  A jewelry dealer who saw his work asked him to repair an expensive watch.  Not only did he repair the watch without any training in watch making, but he managed to build an exact replica of the watch from memory over a year later.  In the 1990’s the company was revived by the SoWind Group who also own Girard Perregaux.  Today and from the beginning, the idea was to produce simple, affordable, yet high quality watches song high quality stainless steel rather than precious metals, robust cattle leather straps rather than expensive crocodile or ostrich, and using strong and durable movements.  All of the savings made in these areas are invested in the construction of the watch to produce best quality timepieces.  This one looks like it has hardly been used, it comes with complete box set and papers with unsigned warranty card but approximately 3 to 5 years old. It is a magnificent shaped and sized watch, which is round with long lugs, large pushers and over sized crowns. It has a screw down crown at the 3 position for winding and setting the hands. It has another screw down crown at the 9 position which is used for operating the internal rotating bezel.  This dial is a beautiful and rarely seen colour combination. The internal rotating bezel is blue with silver print, the central part of the dial is a copper/salmon colour and it has silver sub dials. The numerals on the dial are in old fashioned large print. The case is well proportioned and symmetrical and is brushed and polished stainless steel with screw on solid steel case back. The movement is an Dubois Depraz modular movement, it has a curved sapphire crystal. It comes with the original tan leather strap and also comes on a replacement Rios blue leather strap, it has the original signed Daniel Jean Richard folding deployant clasp. Mint condition six months old Breitling Bentley Motors automatic chronograph. It was purchased form UK authorised dealers in June 2009 so just 4 months old when taken into stock. The Bentley Motors chronograph cultivates originality, but permeated by an eminently British sense of refinement and moderation. The gaze is immediately struck by the knurled finishing on the bezel, inspired by the Bentley control buttons. The case is distinguished by its imposing diameter. Breitling has combined this original design with an exclusive technical touch. The Bentley Motors chronograph features a unique mechanism known as the “30-second” type chronograph. The centre hand sweeps once around the dial in half a minute instead of the customary 60 seconds, an astonishing configuration that enables extremely accurate read-off to within 1/8th of a second. This distinctive feature is part of Calibre 25B, a movement stemming from the Breitling Chronométrie workshops and which is officially chronometer-certified, as indeed are all Breitling movements. In tribute to the automobile world, the Bentley Motors is equipped with another world exclusive feature, the “variable tachometer”, which enables one to measure average speed, regardless of the time elapsed, the distance covered or the speed reached. The movement is a Breitling Calibre 25B, chronometer-certified by the COSC, self winding high-frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour), 38 jewels. 1/8th of a second chronograph, 30-second, 15-minute and 6-hour totalisers, with date. The case is large and substantial stainless steel. It is water-resistant to 100 metres. Screw-locked crown. Rotating pinion bezel with variable tachometer (circular slide-rule). Cambered sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating on both sides of the crystal. The dial is black with matching black Barenia leather strap. UK retail price has just gone up to £5,700 (US $9,140).  Dimensions are as follows. Diameter is 48 mm excluding the crown, 50 mm including the crown, lug to lug is 52 mm and thickness is 16 mm. Excellent condition Breitling Wings pilot watch in steel and gold.  It had a £380 service in 2007 at Coles, who are authorised Breitling dealers. It is a quartz powered pilots wristwatch. This is a regular size watch rather than an oversize watch that so many seem to be these days. This size is decent and makes it comfortable to wear. This is the entry level priced Breitling, but by no means entry level in terms of quality, finish and construction.  This especially so given that it is also classed as a professional instrument with its 100 meter water resistance (not tested).  It is hard wearing and feels strong and substantial. The case is polished steel case with sapphire crystal which has an anti reflective coating. The case has gold accents on the bezel, and gold bezel riders with a gold crown. It has a screw down crown giving it decent water resistance.  Has bright gold dial markings and gold luminous filled hands against an black dial, with aviator style markings and a date at the 3 position.  Has a sturdy uni directional ratchet operated rotating bezel with riders at the primary number positions.  Being a quartz watch, it is deadly accurate, does not need winding up and very reliable. Vintage, rare and very collectible Breitling 765 Co-Pilot watch with hand wound movement.  The watch is working perfectly and all functions work correctly, and just come back from full service and movement overhaul.  This is a classic Breitling pilot watch and is referred to as the 765 Co-Pilot, originally produced in the 1950's and this one dates to the mid to late 60’s. The watch is all stainless steel, very large and substantial and is a true instrument timepiece. It naturally has the rotating bezel which is an aviators count down bezel with sixty minute increments. The final fifteen minutes are iterated in clear five minute increments and numbered 5 down to 1 three times in three separate colour coded sections. These being red, silver and blue. It has a beautiful dial in outstanding condition, which is mat black, long baton markings and very distinctive silver sub dials in a tri compax sub dial configuration. The 60 second elapsed timer is the large sweep second chronograph hand, the fifteen minute elapsed timer is at the 3 position and the twelve hour elapsed timer is at the 6 position. The subsidiary seconds are at 9. This one is slightly unusual as it has a fifteen minute elapsed timer rather than thirty minute. The movement is specifically adapted for this to make chronograph readings more legible and clearer. Most unusually with this adaption, the format cis changed so that the fifteen minute hand jumps to the half minute position when the central on minute elapsed time hand passes the thirty position. This makes chronograph readings even more legible and highly accurate. It is an essential function, of any aviator from, pilot, to navigator or flight engineer. The movement whilst it has this adaption is of no problem to any watchmaker servicing the watch and it was serviced with the ease of any other hand winding chronograph prior to advertising it. The movement is  hand winding Swiss made Venus 178, which is also used in the Breitling Navitimer amongst other decent quality watches. Lovely well laid out and symmetrical dial design. Curved acrylic crystal and screw on case back. The case back is Breitling signed, with the words ”Shock Protected, Anti Magnetic, Stainless Steel, Waterproof” Along with the B logo and words “Breitling, and 765 CP” It has the original large signed Breitling crown, Breitling signed movement and comes on a decent quality replacement bund style black leather strap with pin buckle. Dimensions are as follows. The width is 41 mm excluding crown, and 44 mm including the crown. The thickness is 14 mm and the lug to lug distance is 48 mm Ref: BRL 138. reserved

Used but excellent to mint condition Tutima Military Chronograph in stainless steel. The Tutima Military Chronograph is one of the watches that has previously been used by German and Nato military forces. It was adopted by the armed forces for issue to pilots, officers and special forces. The reasons were not only for the reliability, durability and robustness, but also the unique design of the control buttons for the chronograph functions. Instead of the usual protruding buttons, they used large spaced push buttons integrated into the case. This feature facilitated operation, particularly when wearing gloves, as well as reducing protruding parts that could interfere or cause injury to the wearer. The buttons however did not affect the 10 ATM water resistance of the watch. Please note, this item is used and not tested for this water resistance. It uses the tried and tested Lemania 5100 automatic movement. The 5100 has passed countless endurance tests with flying colours. Its robustness, reliability and precision under even the toughest of conditions is partly due to the refinement and evolution of it as well as the number of moving parts being kept to a bare minimum without impairing the functions. The watch is designed as an instrument and provides instant legibility as it has a sharply contrasting dial. The sixty minute elapsed timer is one of the large centre hands, with the red t-bar tip, which provides very good legibility for elapsed timing without having to look in the smaller sub dials. Has a 24 hour indicator at the 12 position, twelve hour elapsed timer at the 6 position, and sixty second elapsed timer is the large red sweep centre second hand. The subsidiary seconds is at the 9 position and day and date at the 3 position. The crystal is sapphire with anti reflective coating.  It has a recessed screw down crown and is water resistant to 20 bar (approximately 200 metres).  The internal fixed bezel has 12 hour markings for additional elapsed time functionality. It comes one matching replacement steel bracelet and also with a replacement rubber strap. It comes with all boxes, papers and instructions, unsigned warranty card, but watch is around 7 or 8 years old. UK retail price is £2,400 (US $3,940). Used condition with odd marks to the watch, nothing serious. Outstanding and very impressive and imposing looking wristwatch. The Sinn 103 Ti Diapal is a variation on the 103 Titanium, to create the 103 Titanium Diapal. This combines two of Sinn’s most popular models to create a watch fit for all purposes. The 103 is the longest running in Sinn’s range of watches. The Sinn 103 Ti UTC DIAPAL is chronograph with a completely lubricant free escapement, which is a world first.  Every wristwatch requires a service every few years as the escapement wheels and pallets need lubricating to avoid friction.  Sinn used the technological innovations of the space program to develop a lubrication free escapement called DIAPAL, which is a reference to the friction reducing technique of replacing the ruby pallet stones with diamonds, hence the name DIAmond PALlets.  The diamond pallets are then fitted to the traditional movements, in this case the Valjoux 7750, so you have the tried and tested Valjoux 7750, which is the world standard for automatic chronographs, which has been modified with space age technology to make it friction free.  This is a technology which has been years in the making at the Sinn labs.  In addition to the movement The cases are treated with “Tegiment” process.  This is the process where the ice-hardened outer layer of special anti-corrosive stainless steel is hardened to 1,200 Vickers which is four times harder than nickeliferous high grade stainless steel used in other high quality stainless steel watches.  This steel process is rarely found in watches, but is more often found in surgical instruments, and aerospace and aviation. The bracelet is treated in the same process to give it equal strength to the case.  Has a sapphire crystal, screw down crown and is water resistant to 20 ATM.  The dial is anthracite in colour with black sub dials and is an attractive and striking looking watch.  The UTC hand is a dual time indicator and is independently set of the main hands and points to a second time zone.  If you do not want a second time zone showing, the hand can be set to move in synchronization with the hour hand and it fits behind it perfectly so it will never be seen. Candino was founded in Switzerland in 1947 by Adolf Flury-Hug in Herbetswil. Things started to take off for them in 1971 when Candino inaugurates an assembly line for automatic watches and manufactures special electronic digital watches. The company employs 120 staff with premises in Biel and Herbetswil, Switzerland, not only supply the Swiss market, but export watches to over 65 countries worldwide. Key sale areas are Europe and the Middle and the Far East. All Candino watches are produced at the factory in Herbetswil, near Solothurn, at a rate of up to 2,000 quality watches per day. To strengthen the market presence and to profit from the synergies, Candino has been integrated into the Festina Group in January 2002. The Festina Group was founded 30 years ago by entrepreneur Miguel Rodríguez. The group's central head office is in Barcelona and there are subsidiaries in 9 countries. In 2006 Candino had the honour of timing Roger Federer's first victory in his home city, at the Davidoff Swiss Indoors in Basel. Candino are a strong brand today. This one however is an early 1970’s hand winding chronograph and one that is now regarded as 70’s retro cool. And for very good reason. It is an outstanding looking watch in mint original condition. It has hardly been worn and looks like it is only a year old condition wise. It has period styling to the late 1960’s to early 1970’s, with a case shape typical of this era. It comes on the original good quality solid link steel bracelet with signed folding clasp, which is an Oyster style bracelet. Unusually it has got screw in links, and at a period where companies were cutting costs, this one is made to the highest of standards including this bracelet, case finish, dial design and the movement. The case is solid stainless steel and very large for the age. It retains the original finish and has never been polished. It has a large push crown and a screw on case back. The movement is a Swiss made 17 jewel Valjoux 7733 hand winding movement in excellent condition. The time keeping is accurate and all chronograph functions work correctly. It has a two tone “bull’s eye” dial in navy blue and silver, with white accents and luminous markings. The main hands are white and luminous filled, the central sweep chronograph hand and sub dial hands are in bright orange and the dial and hands are in mint looking, un-faded new condition. Width is 40 mm excluding crown, 43 mm including crown and 44 mm lug to lug. Thickness is 12 mm. Ref. VIN 541. Price is £595 or US $975

Founded in 1881, Seiko has built a reputation for precision, reliability and excellence in advancing technology. Although Seiko's technological expertise has seen them expand into a number of diverse fields, watches remain at the heart of its business. Seiko watches have often been revolutionary, with advancements including Japan's first wristwatch in 1913 to the world's first quartz watch in 1969. Seiko currently manufactures some of the sporting world's most advanced watches, with the ‘Sportura' range of all star chronographs built to perform at the highest level. This one is a used but mint condition Seiko Sportura Retrograde 1/100 second chronograph. It is a wonderful retro sports looking watch with outstanding modern features. It epitomises everything that a racing timer has to offer. From its slick motor sports design to its functionality, this watch fits in with both modern and retro racing style. The case is large in polished stainless steel. It has got swivel lugs for maximum comfort for wearing a large watch, the lugs have got stylised holes in the sides reminiscent of racing car engine block design. It has got a fixed anodised polished steel 60 minute external bezel secured with four torque head bolts, again reminiscent of a racing car engine. The dial has got a subtle carbon fibre effect to it and is black. The chronograph hands are bright orange and in tune with the lugs also have very small drilled holes giving them a fantastic sporty appeal. The movement is a Japan made Seiko quartz movement. The sub dial at 12 contains two hands for reading 100th seconds. The white hand revolved once per second and the orange hand revolves ten times per second. When activated, the orange hand spins so fast, it is an orange blur making this one of the quirkiest chronographs that you can experience. In addition, to add to the quirkiness, the sub dial at 6 is the 40 minute elapsed timer which is a retrograde hand, when the 40 minute mark is reached, the hand collapses back to zero starting again. The sub dial at 9 is the second hand for the time and the central orange hand is the sixty second elapsed time. It has got a date at the 3 position. The crystal is scratch resistant sapphire or hardlex as Seiko refer to it as. The crown is a screw down crown and the watch is 100 metres water resistant. The crown and pushers are machined to provide good grip. It comes on the original pitted strap with orange stitching. The buckle is also in tune with the hole design, and has drilled holes to the sides, with a double pin buckle. UK retail price is £425 or US $675. Dimensions are as follows, Width is 44 mm excluding the crown, 47 mm including the crown, lug to lug is 55 mm and thickness is 10.5 mm.  Ref SEI 106. Price is £275 or US $475
