Sinn U1
W on White Silicone Strap
|
Sinn U1 W made in a limited quantity of 300
pieces. This is a variation of the regular U1 but with white dial and
black steel case. The black indices and hands are luminous. Sinn are
well renowned and highly regarded in watch manufacturing as they are
innovators and producers of mainly instrument, military and aviation
watches. They are know for investing large amounts of money in
research and development and have some world leading technical
innovations that make their watches highly desirable and
collectible. Moreover, they are fanatical about engineering
standards , and the Sinn watches are over engineered, without being over
designed – and at a price point that does not edge them away from the
enthusiasts. The U1 and U2 watches are indeed unique
and one of a kind. They keep in line with Sinn’s philosophy of
manufacturing watches that are built to the highest standards, and
employ the latest in technical developments. The U1 and U2 are
designed with specific diving use and totally impervious to water
penetration. The U1 and U2 cases are made from stainless steel
that used in the construction of the outer hull of submarines. The
steel was by procured by Sinn from a steel supplier to Emden GmbH, one
of Germany’s North Sea shipbuilding yards who construct submarines
from the very same steel. This submarine steel is not only
extraordinarily sea water resistant (PRE value up to 38), it possesses
also the highest anti magnetic quality. Another main advantage of
this steel that Sinn’s Tegiment technology could also be combined with
it. The Uni directional ratchet operated rotating bezel is Tegimented
where the steel can be hardened on up to 1500 Vickers. Compared to
regular 316 L stainless steel which is hardened to approximately 220
Vickers. The indices are machined directly into the bezel without
the use of bezel inserts, which can corrode or come loose at deep
depths. The watch has the bezel hardened to 1,500 Vickers by the use of Sinn’s tegimented treatment in the Sinn
laboratory. Has a sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating,
screw down crown with three gaskets and is water resistant to 1000
metres to DIN 8306 specification. The watch has an ETA 2824-2
automatic movement, operating at 28,800 beats per hour, shockproof
according to DIN 8308 specification and anti magnetic according to DIN
8309 specification. It operates in temperatures between -45°
Celsius to +80° Celsius due to the special lubricants in the movement
applied in the Sinn laboratory. Super Luminova luminous broad
hands and dial markings for maximum legibility. Functional and
utility looking red and white hands and sweep second hand. Comes
on silicone strap with double push button deployant buckle and fliplock
safety clasp. Outstanding watch. Width is 44mm, lug to lug
is 50 mm, Thickness is 14.5mm. Ref: SIN 87. Price is £1,475 |

Sinn U1000 S Automatic
Chronograph

|
The
Sinn U1000 S is the same as the U1000, but this time with hardened
tegimented black coated steel. It is a world first in the watch industry in
that it fulfils the European diving equipment standard. Its reliability,
accuracy and faultless operation, even under extreme changes of temperature
have been subject to review and testing and duly certified by Hamburg based
institution Germanischer Lloyd, who have the responsibility for technical
safety in the maritime world. Germanischer Lloyd have certified the pressure
resistance of the U1000 to 100 bar or 1,000 metres. The U1000 is and
outstanding diver chronograph with an unmistakable character. It is a watch
with special capabilities and technologically advanced features, unlike any
other available today. In its design too, which as with all Sinn watches, is
guided strictly by function. The U1000 projects and imposing presence:
tough, well constructed and guaranteed to work. These are essential
qualities for anyone who wants to ensure that their personal safety will be
reliable every day, and even under extreme diving conditions. The watch has
an optimised chronograph display. Technically, Sinn have nothing to chance,
every little detail meticulously planned. At the heart of the watch is a
calibre SZ 02 automatic movement. This was developed and manufactured for
functionality with the chronograph indicator at 6 o'clock position which is
more prominent and logical to see, in a very large sub dial. It is on a
60-minute counter - and not as usual on a 30-minute timer. These combined
make for a highly legible display. This practical design has an unbeatable
advantage: With support from the 12-hour meter for hours can be at a glance
the chronographs stopped by the hours, minutes and seconds without adding
cumbersome easily read. Impeccable operation even when diving at a depth of
1,000 metres (100 bar). Concerning the operation of the chronograph
function, Sinn have the same in many respects developed even more
future-oriented standards. Because the chronograph can be stopped under
water, and because of the large, non screw down pushers even with diving
gloves use. Safe operation is ensured until nominal pressure is reached, a
feature in addition to the bezel, offers the user and additional timing
feature. The styling of the U1000 fulfils the strict standards applicable to
mission timers. Among other things this means that form rigorously follows
function. The ingenious dehumidifying technology guarantees protection
against moisture. For every diver, knowing that their watch will not mist up
is of life saving importance. Sinn have solved this problem with their
patented, technologically sophisticated dehumidifying technology. To slow
down the ageing of the oils caused by enclosed air humidity inside the
watch, the U1000 mechanism is mounted in a dry atmosphere created by three
supporting elements being the copper sulphate water absorbing capsule,
double Viton seals and inert argon gas filling. German submarine steel
guarantees seawater resistance. The U1000 casing is made of practically sea
water resistant submarine steel and has been hardened using Tegiment
technology. It offers effective protection against scratching of the casing
surface. The watch has got a 60 minute, 60 step ratcheted rotating bezel
which is also secured against inadvertent adjustment by patented system, for
example when receiving a bump. The watch is guaranteed to operate between -
45°C to + 80°C. In summary, the features are as follows: Full Tegiment
construction - six times harder than standard steel watches. Case
constructed of submarine steel for superior resistance to corrosion,
scratches and magnetism. Double Viton® seals. Modified SZ-02 movement with
redesigned 60 minute register. Sinn special oil for operation in extreme
temperatures. Four Sinn copper sulphate capsules to absorb moisture and
humidity. Inert gasses have been inserted into the case to promote a dry and
stable environment. Bezel is screwed to the case using an exclusive Sinn
design. Bezel is locked into position and will rotate only when pushed down.
Built to the standards of the German special forces - EZM 6. Double coated
anti-reflective sapphire crystal hardened with Tegiment process. In house
case construction from Sinn's Glashutte case manufacture SUG Dimensions are
as follows. Comes on silicone strap with folding clasp. Width is 44 mm excluding crown, 49 mm including crown, lug to
lug is 51 mm and thickness is 18

mission timers.

Sinn
UX Einsatzzeitmesser 2 B (EZM 2 B). SDR – this is a variation on
the standard UX, but with black hardened tegimented rotating bezel.
The UX is designed for the elite German Grenzschutzgruppe (GSG-9)
special forces in underwater tactical operations. It has a silicone
oil-filled cavity renders watch virtually indestructible, plus it
eliminates glare and allows for reading from almost any angle.
The refractive properties of the oil eliminates the glare and also
gives the appearance of it not having any depth when viewed from an angle,
so the time can be seen at even the slimmest of angles.
It has the crown at the 4 position, tucked away out of the way as
it is designed to prevent underwater snagging. A unique deep-water
timepiece designed for extreme undersea environments. It is an
officially certified chronometer and as such has been tested by the Swiss
COSC independent testing labs under several conditions and tolerances.
It comes with the chronometer certificate.
Sand-blasted stainless steel case, anti-reflective and
scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, hermetically sealed and
screw-reinforced back, uni-directional elapsed time bezel calibrated for
15 minute decompression stops, reversed screw-down crown, silicon
oil-filled watch cavity provides water resistance to virtually any depth,
special ETA 955.652
quartz movement with seven year battery, quick-set date window, luminous
hands and markings, shock-resistant, anti-magnetic, waterproof rubber
strap, The steel was by procured by Sinn from a steel supplier to
Emden GmbH, one of Germany’s North Sea shipbuilding yards who construct
submarines from the very same steel. This submarine steel is
not only extraordinarily sea water resistant (PRE value up to 38), it
possesses also the highest anti magnetic quality. Another main advantage of this steel that Sinn’s
Tegiment technology could also be combined with it. The
Uni directional ratchet operated rotating bezel is Tegimented where the steel can be hardened on up to 1500 Vickers.
Compared to regular 316 L stainless steel
which is hardened to approximately 220 Vickers. The indices are machined directly into the
bezel without the use of bezel inserts, which can corrode or come loose at
deep depths. The watch has the bezel is black hardened to 1,500
Vickers by the use of Sinn’s tegimented treatment in the Sinn
laboratory. Outstanding watch. Comes

Brand new limited edition
Sinn EZM 1, limited to 250 pieces worldwide. The EZM 1 is one of the most
successful and desirable of all Sinn watches. The original watches are
selling for about 60% higher than the original retail price. It was
discontinued by Sinn as the Lemania 5100 movement in the watch was
discontinued. Sinn have managed to secure 250 Lemania 5100 movments and
then made this into a new limited edition. The limited edition is
indicated by engraving to the side of the case. Whilst the movement is no
longer available, Sinn have spare parts which will last them twenty years.

Sinn
Einsatzzeitmesser 4 (EZM 4). Another totally unique and very appealing
Sinn EZM 4 automatic chronograph wristwatch, this time designed built for
fire fighters and paramedics. The watch continues along the EZM
functionality, legibility and practical lines.
To start it also has the crown and the pushers over on the left side
of the watch. This prevents the
watch form snagging whilst it is being worn in potentially life threatening
situations. This layout is also
popular with left handed people or people who like to wear a watch on the
right wrist. The watch itself
is functional as it contains a pulsometer on the outer scale.
This is used by paramedics or fire fighters to check the pulse rates
of casualties, and they can tell at a glance the pulse rate without having
to make any additional calculations, which is useful given that the
situations in which this is done is one of an emergency.
It has a one hour chronograph, additional hours are not required for
fire fighting, so these functions are not used to allow the watch greater
legibility and clarity. The
chronograph one hour hand is the centre hand with the T bar.
The scale on the chronograph is a count up scale from 0 to 60, with
the first fifteen minutes marked out in yellow/green, and the second fifteen
minutes in red. This provides
instant and highly visual reading (as may often be read in restricted light
environments) of critical timing in emergency situations such as relating to
oxygen remaining, time in a building etc.
The sixty second chronograph hand is also a central sweeping hand and
can be used on the same coloured count up scale for paramedic purposes. Day
and date functions at the 9 position – out of the way of the critical 30
minute timing functions Altogether cleverly thought out and designed watch.
It is functional, practical and unusual unique watch.
Width is 40 mm at excluding crown and 44 mm including crown, lug to
lug is 47 mm, Thickness is 14 mm. Ref SIN 23 sold
