Excellent condition Rolex Military pocket watch, recently had a full service and in perfect working order, it runs and winds up as smooth as silk. Rolex themselves need no introduction as they are one of the most famous watch houses in the world.  In the early days of their history they were making pocket watches before the advent of the wristwatch.  This one is one of their military watches that was issued to the British armed forces during the World War 1 period and is more than likely to have been issued to an officer.  The style is typical in military design with a mat black dial with large and bold numerals and hands, some of the luminous fill has fallen from the hands, but a decent watchmaker will be able to restore the hands, however it is best left and it is being sold as it is.  The dial is signed Rolex and the numbers A 2052.  As with all military watches, the case is metal alloy.  The case back is stamped with the military issue numbers “A. 2052, below that G.S. MK II and beneath that a broad arrow.  The inside of the case back is also stamped by Rolex.  The movement is in excellent condition and the bridge is stamped with Rolex.  It is a 15 jewel stem wound movement.  This is a wonderful piece of military memorabilia and one to be treasured by a collector which appeals to militaria and Rolex enthusiasts alike.  Dimensions are width is 50 mm and thickness is 15mm.  Ref: ROL 472. B186 Marathon 2.jpg (122390 bytes)

B186 Marathon 1.jpg (132089 bytes)

B186 Marathon 3.jpg (120746 bytes)

Mint condition and hardly used Marathon Navigator watch.  Marathon are a Canadian company who have their watches manufactured in Switzerland with Swiss movements.  They primarily commission watches for military or service use. This one was made in 1990 and manufactured by the renowned Swiss makers, Gallet and Company. It is a substantial and durable watch which is large and chunky.  It has a utilitarian feel to it with it’s mat black dial and broad hands and bold numbers allowing for maximum legibility. It is one of the models with the highly luminous tritium vials applied to the dial and the hands, made by Swiss innovative company MB Microtec. However due to the age, the luminosity is not very powerful as tritium has a half life of 20 years. The case is made of sandblasted stainless steel and is an asymmetrical case with the right side where the crown is thicker than the left side as this is the side of the watch that would ordinarily receive the most impacts throughout its life, so is reinforced to make it sturdier as well as protecting the crown. It has a bi directional ratcheted rotating bezel iterated to the first twenty minutes. The crown is a screw down crown and sits flush with the case when screwed in. It has got an acrylic plexi crystal, perfect for military use as it will not shatter like glass so no threat posed to the user. It has a battery hatch on the case back allowing the user to change the battery. It comes on a black fabric strap with pin buckle.  Dimensions are as follows: width is 43 mm, lug to lug is 48mm, and the thickness is 13mm. Ref: NWW 787. Price is £245 or US $425

Excellent condition Westland Lynx helicopter clock, which is a hand winding clock with independent chronograph. The clock has been salvaged from a Lynx helicopter when it was upgraded with a new clock as part of an instrument panel upgrade.  The clock has been serviced by a Ministry of Defence technician or contractor and comes with the service equipment conditioning label in 2003. The Westland Lynx is a British multi purpose military helicopter designed and built by Westland Helicopters at its factory in Yeovil. Originally intended as a utility craft for both civil and naval usage, military interest led to the development of both battlefield and naval variants. The Lynx went into operational usage in 1977 and was later adopted by the armed forces of over a dozen nations, primarily serving in the battlefield utility, anti armour, search and rescue and anti-submarine warfare roles. In 1986 a specially modified Lynx set the current Fédération Aéronautique Internationale's official airspeed record for helicopters. This clock has been in use in a military helicopter, but it is not know which division of the armed forces it was used in. The clock has a reference number and a serial number on it so it may be able to be traced using these numbers if access can be gained to the records which holds such information. The clock is a steel bodied black steel clock. The body of the clock contains serial and reference numbers. The clock is hand winding with a very smooth winding action. The hands are set by pressing the large button at the bottom left and  rotating it. It has got a clear dial with large numbers for good legibility. It has got an internal rotating bezel iterated to 60 minutes for independent timing events of up to one hour. It has got an independent chronograph function timing up to 15 minutes. This is presumably for timing short events such as hover time during rescue operations. The chronograph is set by pressing the large button in the bottom left. This starts, stops and resets the chronograph. The green sweep hand is the sixty second elapsed chronograph timer. The sub dial a the 4 to 5 position is the 15 minute elapsed timer. This is a large clear sub dial and unusually it records in 30 second increments. Chronographs normally record elapsed time in 60 second increments. So when the green hand reaches 30 seconds, the sub dial hand flicks over to half way to the indices representing 1 minute. Then when it has reached 60 seconds, the sub dial flicks over the show 1 minute of elapsed time. The face is has an anti reflective coating, which has some marks to the coating. It runs for around 3 days when fully wound up. There is a socket on the back of the clock . This was used to fix to the electrical so the clock is illuminated at night time. The clock is hand winding mechanical, not electrical. It is a nice object and would make a good desk clock with a difference as it is nice historical military piece with a big story to tell. Dimensions are as follows: Width is 61 mm height is 61 mm, the bezel is 57 mm across and the clock face including the internal banked bezel is 47 mm which is about the size of a pocket watch. The thickness is 34 mm which includes the metal body and the bezel Ref. VMW 140. Price is £195 or US $325

B189 Seiko Mil A 5.jpg (52695 bytes)

Good condition Seiko Royal Navy Helicopter Pilot’s watch. Just serviced with a new battery and brand new James Bond nato strap. The watch was originally issued in 1988 and due to being a military issue, has usual marks on it as one would expect. It is a very desirable and highly collectible watch due to the fact that it is a practical and functional watch and the choice of the British Armed Forces for use with the helicopter pilots. Another ting adding to the collectability is the rarity of the watch, there were issued in no doubt in many numbers but not many survived life outside the armed forces where servicemen were required to give watches back once retired from the forces, on some occasions they could buy them if they wanted to keep them but not many servicemen took up this option. Genuine military issue item for the UK armed forces. If it is good enough for them, it is certainly good enough for everyday use. These are getting increasingly harder to find and as a result the prices are climbing. It is made in Japan with Japanese made quartz movement. It has a sandblasted all stainless steel case with fixed bars for operational security reasons. The dial is mat black with subsidiary seconds at the 6 position, the thirty minute elapsed timer at 9 and the 1/10th second elapsed timer at the 3 position. When the chronograph is activated, the 10th second timer moves straight into action in a very fast rotation. The inner bezel has sixty second markings, and the chronograph sixty second recorder is the sweep hand. This is comfortable to wear, and an excellent watch. Issue numbers on the case back are as follows 6645 -99, then 7683056, the broad arrow mark, then under that, 5358/88. Width is 38 mm excluding crown and 40 mm including crown and pushers. Good condition Pulsar RAF Pilot’s military wristwatch. The Pulsar is the current issue watch to RAF pilots. It is a decent quality watch which is sturdy and durable designed to be used in the fast lane whilst flying military jets. RAF pilots have been issued with many different watches over the years, and the Pulsar being the latest took over from the Seiko’s. Pulsar is actually part of the Seiko company and are manufactured by Seiko to the same standards as Seiko. The watch is made in typical military fashion with a bespoke functionality. The case is made of stainless steel and is large and thick with large pushers and crown designed to be operated whilst wearing gloves. The dial is mat black with highly legible dial markings and hands. The functions include hour and minutes with second hand. Unusually for a chronograph the second hand is the central hand. The sub dial at the 12 position is the 10th second elapsed timer, the 60 second elapsed timer is at the 6 positions and 60 minute elapsed timer is at the 9 position. It has got a date at the 3 positions and it is water resistant to 100 metres. The case is screw on and has military markings. The crystal is mineral glass and has marks from normal military use as does the case. It comes on a new black nato strap. Nice piece of military timekeeping memorabilia. Dimensions are as follows. Smiths are a British manufacturer of watches and prolific maker supplying mainly their domestic watches for the best part of a 80 years before becoming defunct in the late 1970’s. They fell victim like many other traditional watchmakers to the quartz invasion from the Far East. They have recently been resurrected by Timefactors and Smiths branded watches have taken on a new life again. They were famous for some of their watches including the Smiths Everest, worn by Sir Edmund Hillary on his ascent of Mount Everest. The watches were also made famous by their military issue watches, and other military timing devices. This one is apparently a Royal Air Force radar camera timer, allowing the operator to take photographs of radar readings with precise timing intervals. Hence it has got a small clock on the device. The timer was part of a bigger device. The device is made out aluminium, and has a shutter release button on top of it. The shutter release is spring loaded. There is a winding crown to the right of the case which winds up the hand winding movement. The movement is one of the no compromise movements that Smiths used in their military watches, and indeed the dial is signed as Smiths De Luxe. The crystal is acrylic and it has a small arched opaque shape in the centre of the crystal. This presumably had some significance when it was in place in the original device. The case is marked with the following numbers 14A/4290240. Beneath that is the reference numbers which have been struck through, presumably once it was de-commissioned. These numbers are REF No 14A/4345 and beneath that the British broad arrow marks. Nice piece of military history. Dimensions are as follows 37 mm wide, 63 mm top to bottom and 10 mm thick. Roamer Anfibio – Rhodesian Army Issue

B185 Roamer 5.jpg (76568 bytes)

Roamer began life in 1888 when a watchmaker named Fritz Meyer opened his own workshop to produce cylinder escapements in Switzerland. Fifteen years later, his venture had grown into a fully fledged company manufacturing their own complete movements. By 1923, the company was turning out one million watches a year and in 1932 it had 1,200 employees. In 1940, its inventive engineers had developed and patented an exceptionally astute watertight system. The company continued to prosper and became especially famous for the Anfibio range of water resistant watches which today have become collectors items. The Anfibio watches were famously issued to the to various armies and police forces including the Rhodesian army and the South African police.  They were also very famous for their “Stingray” watches which were originally marketed as entry level, but very hardy and tough watches, which were fun to own, but built with good quality materials and movements.  This one is indeed one of their famous Anfibio models which is rare as it is a white dial. Usually they were black dial models. Ordinarily a white dial would not make it so rare, but since this one is in fact one of the military issu watches, which normally have black dials, it is unusual in that it was a white dial. From adoing a little research it can be seen that it was issued to the Rhodesian Army. The Rhodesian Army found diffuiculty sourcing products due to world wide sanctions against Rhodesia in the mid to late 1970’s when they broke free of the British Empire and declared themselves independent under the leadership of Ian Smith without having free and fair elections. In addition to sourcing products, Rhodesia was forced into a civil war due to the actions of the independent government, and these watches were issued to the Rhodesian Army. This one appears to have been issued the a soldier in the elite Selous Scouts. The Selous Scouts were the Rhodesian elite force and were trained by the SAS. The watch was bought in a Hereford auction close to the base of the UK SAS headquarters, so it is possible that there is some connection there. There is an issue number on the back of the watch, 24154510, and the name “Pugh”. More research shows that a member of the Selous Scouts, which was a small unit was named Pugh. This can be seen here http://www.theselousscouts.com/ScoutsP.php With the auction in Hereford, the issue number and name, all information stacks up that this was owned by Pugh in the Selous Scouts. A rare collectors piece. Dimensions are 34 mm excluding crown, 36 including crown and 38 mm lug to lug and 15 mm thick. Ref: VMW 136. sold

B187 Lemania 5.jpg (111460 bytes)

Excellent condition Lemania Royal Navy chronograph watch. The crystal is very old and could even be original, it has been polished, but is also fractured due to its age. This fracturing comes up well in the pictures. A new crystal can be fitted at relatively low cost of around £40, but it is best left with this original crystal in.  This one is an 0552 reference which was originally an HS9 reference, but was later reissued to the fleet air arm after being decommissioned from HS9. Lemania watches are becoming more and more collectible as they get rarer and snapped up and hoarded by military collectors. Little surprise really when you look at the watch, it has everything that a watch should be. They are durable, rugged, decent case sizes, easy to read and very legible, they are reliable and robust and still work like a dream today with easy winding and reliable chronograph functions. In addition they are deadly handsome looking timepieces.  This one is an 0552 reference which indicates that it was issued to the Fleet Air Arm.  This being Royal Navy jet pilots, such as those flying Hawker Siddley Buccaneers or Hawker Harriers.  This example is in excellent condition and the best example that can be seen of this type of watch.  It is the symmetrical case version with the case being equally rounded with no one side thicker than the other as is the case with some of the army and navy watches.  The hands and dial are original.  Two register chronograph with continuous seconds at 9 and 30 minute recorder at 3.  It does have the full military ordinance numbers which read 0552/924-3305 and 3919 on the following line. Above the numbers it has got the broad arrow stamp, with of course the broad arrow on the dial. It has the HS 9 issue stamped struck through after the re-issue. Overall in fantastic shape.  Dimensions are 39 mm excluding crown, 41.5 mm including crown, 46mm lug to lug and 20 mm lug width and 13 mm thick. Ref. VMW 141. sold

Excellent working condition CWC British Military Chronograph. The watch has seen good wear throughout its life and whilst it is mechanically sound and in perfect working order, there is a lot of decay to the tritium luminosity on the hands. The hands can be replaced as originals are available or the originals could be re-lumed by a watchmaker. The decayed luminosity is reflected in the price of this watch. This has been issued to the Royal Air Force and has the military stamps on the case back to note this fact. Stainless steel case, screwed back engraved 6B/551-924-3306, the broadarrow mark then 014/75. The 6B denotes Royal Air Force issue and the last two digits, being the year of issue which is 1975 in this instance. Has black original dial with which is in good condition. The 30 minute chronograph hand may be a replacement as it is a slightly different colour to the subsidiary second hand.  Very collectible and sought after watch as worn and issued to British RAF pilots 17 Jewel Valjoux Caliber 7760, Incabloc shock protected, heavy build tough and virtually indestructible. Comes on a period chain style bracelet which is easy to adjust and remove from the fixed bars, it clips on and off. It has been left on as there a re a few military watches seen with this type of bracelet.. Continuous seconds at 9 position. 30 minute recorder at 3 position. 60 second chronograph sweep hand. The watch and chronograph functions work perfectly. Dimensions are: Width 38 mm excluding crown, 40 mm including crown 46 mm lug to lug and 13 mm thick Ref: VMW 138. sold

B189 CWC 3.jpg (64775 bytes)

CWC British military issued wristwatch, issued in 1991. They are fully serviced with new crystal, fresh battery and new black nato strap. The CWC watch is built to full military specifications. This was until recently the standard army issue.  It is now the G10 2000, so the watch is designed as a military instrument and therefore has the full military specifications. This being that the MOD had rigorous testing for all of the equipment that they purchase such as operation in hot/cold conditions, low pressure/high pressure (for altitude), drop tests, collision testing, water testing, accuracy tests in over 8 positions. These are for durability and accuracy that has to be endured in the field in the most extreme of conditions. The testing went on for a period of about 3 weeks or longer. This in mind, I am sure that the watch is fully capable of enduring the conditions presented to everyday use. It comes on brand new and unworn Nato strap. Dimensions are as follows: width is 37 mm excluding crown, 39 mm including crown. The thickness is 12 mm and the lug to lug distance is 42 mm.  Ref: VMW 142. Price is £65 or US $110

Excellent condition Omega Military pocket watch.  It comes on a very old leather strap, possibly originally used with the watch but impossible to tell. Omega themselves need no introduction as they are one of the most famous watch houses in the world.  In the early days of their history they were making pocket watches before the advent of the wristwatch.  This one is one of their military watches that was issued to the British armed forces during the World War 1 period and is more than likely to have been issued to an officer.  The style is typical in military design with a white dial with large and bold numerals and hands, luminous fill is still in tact.  The dial is signed Omega as is the movement which is in excellent condition.  As with all military watches, the case is metal alloy.  The case back is stamped with the military issue numbers G.S.T.P. Y06169 and above these, the broad arrow military symbol. GSTP is an acronym for General Service Timepiece. The inside of the case back is also stamped by Omega.  The movement is in excellent condition and the bridge is stamped with Omega.  It is a 15 jewel stem wound movement.  This is a wonderful piece of military memorabilia and one to be treasured by a collector which appeals to militaria and Omega enthusiasts alike.  Dimensions are width is 50 mm and thickness is 15mm.  Ref: VMW 130.sold

Good condition recently serviced CWC W10 military wristwatch.  Just retuned from a service. The W10 watch was widely issued to the British Armed Forces in throughout the 1970’s. This one was issued in 1977. The watch has been worn on a soldier’s wrist and likely to have seen military action.  The CWC watches were chosen as standard issue by the Ministry of Defence due to their ruggedness, durability and reliability.  They are indeed very strong and durable watches, and the CWC watches are able to hold their own against the adverse conditions, and other rugged paces that they may be put through during military exercises.  The condition of this one is good, but not excellent.  When they are in excellent or mint condition, they have not seen enough action.  The dial though is in very good condition, with some light marks to the case.  Has stopping seconds so watches could be synchronised for military purposes, the circled T and the broad arrow on the dial indicates tritium luminosity.  The back is marked with the usual military ordinance numbers. This is a very nice piece of military memorabilia.  The width is 35 mm excluding crown, 38 mm including crown.  The thickness is 13 mm and the lug to lug distance is 41 mm.  Ref. Excellent condition Lemania Royal Navy chronograph watch, this one is an 0552 reference which was originally an HS9 reference, but was later reissued to the fleet air arm after being decommissioned from HS9. It does have the full military ordinance numbers which read 0552/924-3305 and 5782 on the following line. Above the numbers it has got the broad arrow stamp, with of course the broad arrow on the dial. It has the HS 9 issue stamped struck through after the re-issue. These are for durability and accuracy that has to be endured in the field in the most extreme of conditions. The testing went on for a period of about 3 weeks or longer. Excellent and all original Messerschmitt Luftwaffe aircraft clock. Allegedly from a Messerschmitt ME 109, but this cannot be confirmed. It is however a WW II era clock made by Junghans for the German Luftwaffe. Junghans are a German company established in 1861 and are the decisive company renowned for their famous time keeping.  By 1900 they were the largest clock makers in the world. They continue to be successful clock and watchmakers today and are one of Germany’s best know brands. Indeed we are also authorised delaers for Junghans and one of their subsidiaries, Max Bill. The dial is showing some fading, but this is only natural for a clock of its age. It is in perfect working condition. It is hand winding by the crown at the 6 position. The hands are set by a lever to its right. The lever is pulled down to allow the hands to be set. Once set the lever is pushed back into position to lock the hand setting function. It has got 15 minute chronograph. This is started by the brass button below the winding crown, the same button stops and resets it. The central sweep hand is the 60 second elapsed timer and the sub dial at the 6 position is the fifteen minute elapsed timer. It also has rotating bezel to allow another 60 minute timing function. It has got a Junghans 30BZ hand winding movement. Outstanding collectors classic which would appeal to watch or clock collectors, military memorabilia collectors or aviation enthusiasts, or indeed all three. Dimensions are width is 62 mm and thickness is 31 mm. Ref VMW 116. sold

Excellent condition Seiko Royal Navy Helicopter Pilot’s watch. Bought directly off ex serviceman, issued to him in 1984 and the watch saw action in the first gulf war and latter middle East conflicts. Very desirable and collectible watch due to the fact that it is a practical and functional watch and the choice of the British Armed Forces for use with the helicopter pilots. The dial is mat black with subsidiary seconds at the 6 position, the thirty minute elapsed timer at 9 and the 1/10th second elapsed timer at the 3 position. When the chronograph is activated, the 10th second timer moves straight into action in a very fast rotation. Much sought after Lemania Royal Navy chronograph watch. It does have the full military ordinance numbers which read 0552/920-3305 and 55369 on the following line above the numbers it has got the broad arrow stamp, with of course the broad arrow on the dial.  Overall in fantastic shape.  Dimensions are 39 mm excluding crown, 41.5 mm including crown, 46mm lug to lug and 20 mm lug width and 13 mm thick. Very rare and excellent condition Lemania South African Air Force pilot’s chronograph with Lemania 5100 automatic movement. Lemania are one of the most famous movement makers alongside Valjoux and ETA. In their heyday, Lemania were making movements for the majority of Swiss watch companies as they were well designed and durable. Lemania movements will still be found in mechanical watches made today. At one time they were producing their own watches. Many of the Lemania designs were very distinctive They were famous for making simple but effective watches. They also made some of the most rugged and durable watches which were chosen by several countries defence forces to be issued to the armed forces. As a result, Lemania have a cult following as they are a reputable company with the name on the dial reflecting that name on the movement – that is a true watch manufacturer, not an outsourcer. This watch is in excellent condition and a military watch collector’s dream. It has the revered and much sought after Lemania 5100 automatic movement. The movement was modified at the Lemania factory to cut out some of the functions deemed unnecessary by the SA Air Force who commissioned it. There is only an one hour chronograph elapsed timer. With two chronograph hands. The sixty second elapsed timer is the sweep second hand with dagger tip, and the sixty minute elapsed timer is the hand beneath the sweep hand with the T bar tip. The subsidiary seconds elapsed timer is at the 9 position. There is a date window at the 3 position. Minimal dial functions for maximum chronograph and time legibility when pilots have a minimal amount of time to glance at their watches. The rotating bezel is a true pilot’s countdown bezel, and it is bi directional, non ratchet. A great classic collectors watch, which will only increase in value. The width is 34 mm excluding crown, 37 mm including crown. The thickness is 10 mm and the lug to lug distance is 42 mm. Ref: VMW 110. reserved

Rare and excellent condition Lemania single pusher Air Ministry pilot chronograph issued in 1953. The chronographs with Air Ministry marks are hard to find, they are usually Fleet Air Arm or HS9. So it is a highly collectable and sought after military watch due to its unique marks and its styling, the simple and uncluttered dial design, single button chronograph function for simplicity of use when in flight, and of course one of the best movements in the world as Lemania were and still are one of the biggest manufacturers of chronograph movements. This one has the Lemania calibre 13 chronograph movement. Symmetrical beautifully shaped case with wide lugs, thick case and large winding crown with extended chronograph pusher, with only the top section of the pusher moving when operated (the bottom half is a part of the fixed case mechanism). The dial is in excellent condition, but the hands are showing some age to the luminosity and one hand is fading at a faster rate than the other, these could be re lumed if required.  Marks on case back read /|\ A.M / 6B / 551 620 / 53.  Light wear to the case form normal use. Width 38 mm excluding crown, 41 mm including crown, 45 mm lug to lug and 14 mm thick. Ref. VMW 109. reserved

Good condition Helvetia Luftwaffe Aviators watch dating to the 1930’s. This is a popular style of watch that was recently reproduced a few years ago with Omega’s museum piece pilot watch. It is an impressive and bold looking watch, which is large in dimensions when the watches of this era were being made very small. Naturally being an aviator’s watch, a decent size is very important for good legibility. Also the hands and numbers are large and bold, again for good legibility. The case is marked to the case back as it has been well used in it’s lifetime, and possibly been used in at least one world war. It has got numbers stamped on which are only just visible and are numbers 7011. It has got a rotating coin edge bezel with a pointer marker on the inside of the case for independent timing of up to 1 hour. The lugs are fixed wire type lugs. The crown is very old and appears to be an original as well. The crystal has marks on it, and is most likely a replacement, but it is very old and very thick. The case back a snap on back with a hinge, so it can be popped open but stays in place by the hinge. The hinge is fragile and could benefit form some repair work, however it is best left as it is. There is no chance of the case back coming off as it snaps into place as well as any modern snap on back. There is an inner dust cover which is also hinged. The movement is large and is signed Helvetia. are as follows but Width 41 mm excluding crown, 45 mm including crown, 47 mm lug to lug and 12 mm thick. Ref. VMW 108 sold

August Raymond SA, was given the abbreviation Arsa on some of the early wristwatches. Auguste Reymond were famed fro developing one of the best hand wound watch movements in the world, namely the Unitas 6498, which is currently used by manufacturers such as Panerai and has been used by IWC. This is a highly collectible wristwatch.  As with all military watches, the cheap ones were given to troops, whilst the better ones were given to officers and administrators.  The Auguste Reymond is one of the latter as can be seen as it is made from stainless steel, has access to the movement through the screw on stainless steel back and has a 15 jewel movement possibly made by Unitas, the movement is stampet with UT 173.  The movement is also marked Arsa and 15 jewels, the movement is in beautiful condition.  It has fixes bars and comes on Timefactors open ended tan strap The dial is sowing signs of fading which is a natural occurrence, but the watch is outstanding for it’s age.  The case back is also in excellent condition and bears the issue numbers.  Marks on the back read D19059H.  Width 34 mm excluding crown, 36 mm including crown, 42 mm lug to lug and 10 mm thick. Excellent condition Jaeger le Coultre WWW military pocket watch, issued to the British military. The case and dial are in excellent condition for the age with some fading to the luminous material as expected of a watch of this age, and some luminous material loss to the hands as seen in the pictures. The case is also in excellent condition given the age of the watch, there are some marks, they can be polished out, but it is best left as it is.  Jaeger le Coultre was one a of the rarer manufacturers to make the GSTP watches, the majority were unmarked, and a lot made by Omega and some Rolex.  Due to the is fact the Jaeger le Coultre watches have become very popular and collectible as well as being due to their durability and history. Large Jaeger le Coultre name across the dial with the traditional broad arrow which denotes government property. The watch has a beautiful movement which is signed Jaeger le Coultre. Military stamps on the case back include GS/TP the broad arrow mark and the numbers 904975. Dimensions are width is 52 mm and thickness is 14 mm. Ref VMW 106. reserved

B165 Waltham 4.jpg (83135 bytes)

Mint condition Waltham military pocket watch, issued to the British military. This is a curious one and very rarely seen. It has a non luminous dial and hands and is specifically made that way with the words “NON-LUM” stamped on the case back. Luminosity may give away a position so it is made for covert or secret operations, or possibly for use in submarines. Either one, its life has been one of mystery. It is issued to the Fleet Air Arm according the issue marks. The case and dial are in excellent condition. Because it is not got any luminous material, there is no fading and no flaking away of the luminous paint, it looks like it was recently made. Like the above Jaeger le Coultre, the Waltham was one a of the rarer manufacturers to make the military pocket watches, the majority were unmarked, and a lot made by Omega and some Rolex.  Due to the is fact the Waltham watches have become very popular and collectible as well as being due to their durability and history. The movement is in outstanding condition and is fully signed and a handsome looking movement as well. Dimensions are as follows. Dimensions are width is 52 mm and thickness is 15mm. Ref VMW 107. Much sought after Lemania Royal Australian Navy chronograph watch.  It is stamped on the case back to indicate its heritage.  This example is in excellent condition and one the best example that can be seen of this type of watch.  The dial and luminosity are fading, but this is a natural process and can be expected of a watch of this age. It is around 40 years old as it dated to the mid 1960’s. It is the asymmetrical case version with the case being slightly thicker on the side of the crown and pusher to protect the buttons from knocks and bumps as they are recessed into the thicker built part of the case.  Two register chronograph with continuous seconds at 9 and 30 minute recorder at 3.  It does have the full military ordinance numbers which read HS9 /|\ RAN 499.  Overall in fantastic shape.  Dimensions are 39 mm excluding crown, 41.5 mm including crown, 46mm lug to lug and 20 mm lug width and 13 mm thick Ref: VMW 103. sold

CWC British military issued wristwatch, two to choose from, one from 1990 and two from 1985. They are fully serviced with new crystal, fresh battery and new black nato strap.  This batch being slightly unusual that they are 0552 issues. The NATO strap is a genuine British military issue and can be worn on outer garments Ref: VMW 103. sold

Excellent condition, just serviced and hard to find Longines Greenlander British military issue watch dating to circa 1952. It is a sought after and collectible military watch which is issued as a www watch but commonly referred to as the Longines Greenlander as it was especially commissioned by the British armed forces taking part in the British north Greenland Expedition between 1952 and 1954. This was a major military exercise by the British forces and included the British Army, the Royal navy and the Royal Air Force. Its purpose was to train service personnel in Arctic conditions and to carry out a se4ries of scientific experiments. There has been some internet posts recently disputing that the watch was used in North Greenland including a comment from somebody purporting to be on the expedition. I would dispute that they can remember every watch worn by every person over a 2 year mission nearly sixty years ago. Every military watch enthusiast knows the true purpose of this rare and beautiful watch.  The watch has got a large and heavy case, and is substantially built with thick case sides and screw on case back with typical military strong fixed bars. The inside of the case back is stamped with the British War Department broad arrow and the WWW letters, standing for wrist watch waterproof, the numbers 23088 3305. the case back also has the same numbers, arrow and WWW along with additional F 7030. Nice condition dial and hands with all around even fading. Crystal appears to be original. It was bought form a customer who owned it for 18 years, prior to that it was in perfect condition ex army stock in original condition. It has not been changed in this period. It has a good condition movement, just serviced and keeping good time. It is a 15 jewel Longines signed gilt Longines caliber 12.68Z with Chaton set jewels and shock absorption system. Dimensions are width is 38 mm excluding the crown, 40 mm including the crown, lug to lug is 48 mm and it is 10 mm thick. Ref. VMW 102. sold

Excellent condition Rolex Military pocket watch. The dial is signed Rolex and the numbers A17274.  As with all military watches, the case is metal alloy.  The case back is stamped with the military issue numbers “A. 17274, below that G.S. Ref: ROL 280.  sold

B158 CWC 2.JPG (147622 bytes)

Excellent condition recently serviced CWC W10 military wristwatch.  The W10 watch was widely issued to the British Armed Forces in throughout the 1970’s. Ref. VMW 90. SOLD

B104 Russian 3.JPG (81324 bytes)

Mint condition, genuine issue diver’s watch with original strap, box and papers.  Nice attractive and huge military watch and nice piece of Russian Soviet Era memorabilia.  as It is a large watch and intended to be worn on the outside of a wet suit, it is too big to be worn as a regular watch.  It is typical in military style with large luminous numbers and hands which are highly luminous and no radio active.  Has a submarine logo on the dial and CCCP logo on the bottom of the dial.  It is a hand wound movement and the crown is protected by a “canteen” style screw down cap which locks into place over the crown creating an air lock in which the crown sits.  The canteen is secured by a chain which prevents it form coming detached from the case.  The case back is stamped with an anchor logo and the issue number 1328.  It naturally has fixed bars, and it is a heavy and strong piece of genuine Russian military hardware.  It comes on the original open ended strap, comes in the original box with Russian Cyrillic writing on it and comes with the original papers also with Russian Cyrillic writing.  The papers are stamped 15th December 1978, and also contains the non radioactive material stamp. Dimensions are 58 mm excluding crown, 75 mm lug to lug and 21 mm thick. Ref: VMW 50 sold

Hamilton 6B RAF Pilot’s Wristwatch sold

B97 Hamilton 3.JPG (39705 bytes)

B97 Hamilton 2.JPG (35143 bytes)

B97 Hamilton 1.JPG (35568 bytes)

Near mint condition Hamilton 6B RAF pilot’s military wristwatch. This was issued to the British Armed Forces in the late 1950’s. The watch has been worn on a RAF Pilot’s wrist and likely to have seen military action. The 6B indicates that it is an RAF watch.  This one is a hard to find round case and the dial is un restored and in perfect condition with original hands and crown.  The case is stainless steel and has fixed bars in as good a condition as you can find them.  The Hamilton watches were chosen as standard issue by the Ministry of Defense due to their ruggedness, durability and reliability. They are indeed very strong and durable watches, and the Hamilton watches are able to hold their own against the adverse conditions, and other rugged paces that they may be put through during military exercises. The dial though is in very good condition, with some light marks to the case. Has hacking seconds, the circled T and the broad arrow on the dial. The back is marked with a very large broad arrow and 6B-9614045 H-67 3302. This is a very nice piece of military memorabilia. The width is 35 mm excluding crown, 38 mm including crown. The thickness is 13 mm and the lug to lug distance is 41 mm. Ref. VMW 49 sold

Record British Military WWW Wristwatch sold

B95 record3.JPG (40600 bytes)

B95 record1.JPG (24435 bytes)

Good condition Record manual winding British military www wristwatch. The British military commissioned a few manufacturers to supply them with www watches.  The www acronym stands for waterproof wristwatch.  Over the years, a few vendors were selected including Record, Cyma, Vertex, Timor, Omega and Eterna. This is a typical www style that was required by the military with mat black dial, bold markings, broad sword hands, fixed bars, and subsidiary seconds at the 6 position.  The case is stainless steel and in mint condition but has not been re-finished – it is in original mint condition.  The dial however has faded over the years but is still legible.  The winding is tight and it is in perfect working order The markings on the back of the dial are W.W.W.  /|\  L22072 539910.  There are very few marks to the case back.  Overall excellent watch and another military watch collector’s classic.  Dimensions are as follows.  Width is 36 mm excluding crown, 39.5 mm including crown.  The thickness is 11 mm and the lug to lug distance is 47 mm Ref: VMW 48 sold

Lemania British Military Fleet Air Arm Chronograph SOLD

B90 lemania 2.JPG (44856 bytes)

B90 lemania 1.JPG (41110 bytes)

B90 lemania 3.JPG (38890 bytes)

Much sought after Lemania Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm chronograph watch.  Bought from the original owner who informs of the following “It has been all over the world with me from when I was in Northern Ireland, The Persian Gulf, Kenya, 4 winters in Norway, Hong Kong, Brunei, all over Australia and Western Europe as well as the Falklands Conflict and lots of other areas I can't talk about” So has plenty of history to it.  This example is in excellent condition and has recently been completely overhauled.  It is one of the rarest Lemania watches and has got two chronograph buttons.  There two button models were typical of the later 1970’s issue watches.  Most of the Lemania watches issued to the forces had a single button.  The two buttons gives the watch that extra bit of symmetry and dimension to it.  It is the asymmetrical case model whereby the case is a bit thicker to the right side to accommodate the crown and buttons which are recessed into the case so as to protect them form snagging or being accidentally activated.  Two register chronograph with continuous seconds at 9 and 30 minute recorder at 3.  Issued in 1976, as indicated by the stamps on the case back.  I has the full military ordinance numbers which read 0552/924-3306 and 5145/76 as well as the broad arrow stamp. Of course it has got the broad arrow on the dial.  The luminosity has faded as expected, but overall in fantastic shape.  Dimensions 38 mm excluding crown, 41 mm including crown, 46mm lug to lug and 20 mm lug width Ref: VMW 47 Price SOLD

B74 lemania mil2.JPG (33969 bytes)

Much sought after Lemania Royal Navy chronograph watch. It is the asymmetrical case version with the case being slightly thicker on the side of the crown and pusher to protect the buttons from knocks and bumps as they are recessed into the thicker built part of the case.  The hands are original but appear to have been re-lumed.  There is some evidence of ageing to the dial as the luminosity has faded and some patina to the central parts of the sub registers.  Two register chronograph with continuous seconds at 9 and 30 minute recorder at 3.  It does have the full military ordinance numbers which read 0552/924-3306 and 3609 on the following line above the numbers it has got the broad arrow stamp, with of course the broad arrow on the dial.  Overall in fantastic shape.  Dimensions are 39 mm excluding crown, 41.5 mm including crown, 46mm lug to lug and 20 mm lug width and 13 mm thick
