Omega Speedmaster Rattrapante Split Second Chronograph
Mint Condition Speedmaster chronograph split second or rattrapante. Omega reference 3450.50.00. It is a rare watch made in limited numbers as it was expensive to produce. Made around 2008, it comes with box and papers and unstamped warranty cards. It has an automatic chronograph based on the Valjoux 7750 which is the world standard for automatic chronographs. The movement has been modified by Omega to incorporate a split second timer or a feature know as a rattrapante This has got two sweeping chronograph central second hands which can be are operated independently of one another for timing a secondary event. If this feature is not required, just a single chronograph hand can be used. It has a sapphire crystal, 12 hour chronograph recorder and attractive carbon fibre dial, with bold contrasting hands and numbers. The watch is a certified Swiss chronometer and as such comes with the relevant COSC certification as well as all other papers and documentation. It also comes with the inner and outer boxes, a replacement leather strap with genuine Omega buckle as well as the original steel bracelet. The steel bracelet has been sized but appears not to have been worn as it is in outstanding condition, as is the rest of this watch. Stunning looking attractive wristwatch and a guaranteed future classic as it was only made for about 4 years. Dimensions are Width including the crown is 43 mm, width excluding the crown is 47 mm, lug to lug is 49 mm and thickness is 16 mm.
