Mint condition Rolex Submariner date, transitional model reference 16800 dating to circa 1982. It has just been serviced by an independent watchmaker. Whilst the 16800 is not the rarest of the transitional models, it is one of the most sought after due to its looks giving the best of both worlds. This is in the fact that it has got the older style matte dial without the white gold surrounds around the plot markers, yet the crystal was changed to a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. So you get the look and feel of the vintage submariner with the matte dial and the durability of the sapphire crystal. The submariner is a watch that needs no introduction, as it is unquestionably the most successful and widely known divers watch in the world.
