Heuer Bundeswehr 3H German Military Issue Flyback Chronograph
Mint condition Heuer Bundeswehr manual winding flyback chronograph issued to the German elite military forces circa early 1970's. This is hand winding Valjoux calibre 230 and is one of the best designed Heuers ever made. It is also one of the most collectible, in particular since it is the most collectible 3H model. 3H is used to denote the luminous content of the tritium. The flyback function allows the chronograph hand to be instantly reset without stopping the chronograph. It has a large case and dial, with large numbers and chronograph sub registers for easy visibility - typical of a military watch. It has a bi directional non ratchet steel rotating bezel which also has large numbers and minute iterations. This watch was the inspiration for many modern military and aviation style watches. The case is brushed stainless steel, and the case back is polished stainless steel held down by four screws. The issue marks on the case back read "BUNDESWEHR 6645-12-146-3774" Comes on an original German Bundeswehr bund leather strap, which also has military issue numbers stamped on it. Dimensions are 43 mm excluding crown, 47 mm including crown. Lug to lug is 51 mm and the thickness is 12.5 mm.
