Breitling Navitimer Aviastar Automatic Chronograph

Breitling Navitimer Aviastar chronograph complete with box and papers dating to 1998. The Aviastar was produced for a short period of time, only two years between 1996 and 1998 and is now a collectible Breitling pilot’s watch, and is a classic amongst Breitling collectors. It has had a complete service and overhaul in 2020 at a cost of £871 and has had a new strap added that has minimal wear, that cost £150. It also comes with the original strap with the buckle switched over. The original has some war to it. It has an extra thick hardened mineral crystal which has an anti reflective coating, the crystal is unmarked. It has a tiered dial with tachometer bezel sloping downwards to a central sunken dial with further sunken sub dials. This gives the dial an three dimensional look to it. It is bright, crisp and clean dial markings with matching bi directional ratchet operated rotating bezel with 60 minute markings. This is typical of a pilot’s style bezel. Stainless steel case, good dimensions with thick body, and long angular lugs. Date at the 3 position. As expected the watch is working perfectly and the movement is based on a Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph. It has the original Breitling signed crown and comes in the original Bakelite box. The box has some minor damage, original instruction booklet and stamped warranty card indicating it was purchased in the USA in 1996. Also comes with the correct Aviastar instruction booklet and of course, with the service receipt for the overhaul mentioned above.
