Le Jour Flygraf Hand Winding. Original Box and Papers

Le Jour hand winding chronograph vintage circa 1972 with original box and papers. Le Jour was a name used by the French maker Yema for its export watches. The Flygraf was an aviator's chronograph featuring a uniquely styled dashboard dial with blue and silver slide rule bezel. The present example is extremely rare with the famed Valjoux 726 movement. The movement and caseback are signed JP Pingouin, Yema's parent company. The stainless steel bezel has two parts; a fixed steel colored inner ring and a rotatable outer ring in a beautiful blue colour

The colorful dial and overall design aesthetic resemble a cockpit or automobile dashboard, which gives the watch a particularly rugged and masculine look and feel. Keeps good time, the chronograph hands reset slowly.
