Tissot 18 Karat Gold Vintage Gents Watch
Good condition Tissot 18 karat gold gents hand winding wristwatch. Tissot are one of the pioneering and entrepreneurial Swiss watchmakers that allowed them to succeed and be one of the mainstream Swiss watchmakers since 1853. It has been their dedicated and meticulous work that has enabled the production of high quality watches at affordable prices. None more so than this one.
It is a an all round good looking and practical watch. This is another one of Tissot’s pioneering watches in terms of design and construction. The watch is outstanding value for money. The weight is 12.5 grams and at current gold prices the case is worth £250. The watch is a lovely looking piece. It is a proper vintage and a very early watch dating to the late 1940’s. Despite its age, the watch is running very well and keeping good time. The case is a cushion shape case with fixed bars, and typical of the cases made in this era. The dial is showing some signs of age and faded from silver to a creamy yellow colour and it is showing darker discolouration around the numerals. It has a Swiss made Tissot movement and it is hand winding.
The strap is not original but has been left on the watch as it is a an olds looking strap and fitting for the age of the watch, the leather on the strap is in good condition and strong and durable. It also comes in a very old box, but not the original box. This is a watch that is valued not much more above its weight in gold and is a lovely vintage collectible that will retain its value. Dimensions are as follows. Width is 32 mm excluding the crown, 33 mm including the crown, 34 mm lug ot lug and 9 mm thick. Price is £345 or US 5
