Lemania Hand Winding Chronograph
Excellent condition and practical looking Lemania chronograph. It has a black dial with black sub dials and with red accents on the hour marker and iterated 30 minute chronograph elapsed time. The case back is stamped with BBC and serial number. The BBC have serial numbers usually stamped on stopwatches used for program recording. The person that I bought this watch off tells me that the watch was previously owned by Sir Robin Day. However this cannot be substantiated. It is a hand winding watch which dates to the early 1970’s. The movement is a Lemania 1840 which was used in many other watches, most notably, the omega Speedmaster. The case is a typical 1970’s type which is high sided and thick, solid stainless steel making it heavy and substantial. Comes on a replacement leather strap. Dimensions are 37 mm excluding crown, 39 mm including crown and 40 mm lug to lug and 13 mm thick.
